Well what d'yna know, you're right. Unfortunatly, $550 for some Sigmas isn't possible for me right now.

Just realised that I can finally go pick up my SRD6 tomo. At last I'll get to listen to those SR-3Ns that have been on my shelf for the last umpteen weeks.

Now I dont want to go to bed, too excited!

Wasn't me either, no cash

Give us impressions of the 3s Duggeh, be interesting hearing what they sound like. Might get a set if they're good.

God, I love the SR-Xmk3s... I'm listening to China Crisis' _Diary of a Hollow Horse_, an album I know like the back of my freaking hand, and every nuance I ever strained to hear is laid totally bare, but not in a way that makes it painful. It isn't like being blodgened about the head by the ambiances, they sound totally natural, but so present... just the freaking bass... if there was a bit more...

I'm starting to get really curious as to what I'lll think of the SR-404s when I get a box to drive them. They'll have the bass, but I suspect they'll break too many other things I like about the X3s. I can't listen to my Grados anymore, I think I'm going to sell them...

...SOMEONE PLEASE SELL ME A SRD-7 PRO! PLEEEEEEEASE!!!

Those were the first Sigma pros I have ever seen for sale, outside of a set in Japan a few months back. $550.00 for phones and amp, even though the amp isn't much. Possibly one day we will see a SRX MkII pro for sale. These seem to be just about as scarce as Sigma Pro's.

I was just listening to Gounod's opera Faust (with Kiri Te Kanawa for the Kiwis in this group) in my Sigma/404- Stax 717 set-up. I swear nothing does opera or choral like them. The singers appear to be more on a stage than ony other phones I have heard. Everything just sort of spreads out and breathes.

Then I went downstairs and listened to the same sections on the Koss ESP 950. Some while back I started using a bench power supply instead of the cheesy transformer supplied by Koss and this does great things for the dynamics giving it slightly better dynamics than the Stax set-up. The Koss set-up also worked well in the big finale but not quite up to the Stax set-up in soundstage, smoothness, air around the performers etc. but had a slight edge on oomph. Of course not all of this was the phones, the Stax set-up had more costly items driving it. That then reminded me about the cost issues, The retail price on the Koss set-up (cd player et al) was less than 1/5 of the price of the Stax set-up. So I continue to think it's a good alternative system especially if you can tweak it.

No, I've been waiting for a SRD-7 Pro for ages too, and I also plan on driving them from a Pass amp.

Guy's dont give up !!! I'm running mine from a Aleph 3 clone now and lets just say it's VERY NICE. Who say's you can't have impact with stats.(oops hope I didn't rub any more salt in the wounds)

I've got the most powerful amp, so I should get dibs at the first one

Joe Jackson's _Body and Soul_ (which came out the year I was born, '84... "It's not so eaaaaasy, it's '84 now!"... yipes!) is slaying me on the SR-X/MK3s right now. The part in Loisaida where it gets all quiet and it's just piano and bass guitar... looooooovely. I can heard the air being moved by the drivers in the bass cabinet connected to Graham Maby's p-bass

Dig the Fagen avatar, haven't heard Morph yet, been scared to not like it...how is it?
