A100Ti Sold Out at Audio Cubes! - Page 3

Bangraman,

No one expects a Stereophile type review!! Just compare the two headphones and do your best to tell us your impressions of the two. Find a piece of music that you know real well, listen to one headphone over and over and listen for certain things in the music. Do you hear a real subtle tinkling set of bells that is delicately portrayed? Do you hear the drumsticks hitting the cymbals when they are struck? Can you hear the strumming of the guitar? Can you hear instruments coming from a certain location? Does that trumpet really sound like a trumpet? Does it sound like there are a bunch of musicians all around your head, or does the sound all come from one place? Does the acoustic guitar sound real? Questions like this can eliminate ambiguity and confusion over words used. To some a headphone that is musical means it might not be detailed. To be accurate may mean to some that it is cold. To say its sound is colored may be bad to some, and good to others. Descriptions of the sounds you hear, where they come from, how realistic they sound, etc. are much more valuable to the rest of us. Think back on a good review that you read and reread it a few times and really look at what was presented and how it was presented.

And heh, even if there is only one person in line to read your review and take into account your impressions, that's one person who looks to you for that insight!!

In other words would the A900 be a viable alternative to the A100Ti if it doesn't come back in stock or should people wait for the A1000? A brief comparison would or the A900 and A100Ti might be good as well.
ditto.

Now, the wood ones, are they closed as well?
They technically are closed, but they do not offer much in the way of isolation. I believe one of the reviews of the ath-w100 on the boards said they are kind of like an open phone in this respect.

From what I've heard the soundstage is much more like an open phone as well. You would think though that a closed phone would offer, if not alot, more isolation than an open phone. It's just in it's nature.

Not to mention that the wood in the W series should block/reflect some amount of noise coming at it???? Plus, sometimes just the shape of an object can reflect sound vice pass it on to the ear.... a flat surface will pass on more sound while a round object should reflect more and pass less thru to the ear. I guess someone with a set of these along with something like the Senn 600s will have to turn on a radio or tv and switch between cans to see if there is any difference. Inquiring minds want to know!!!
