Thread Starter
All my music is in Ape format. Any advantage to converting to flac and is there a way to convert my entire collection automatically and delete the originals along the way?

No real reason to convert to FLAC imo, also just use DBpowerAmp for conversion needs, best program of its type

unless u need product support

Most hardware players (squeezebox 3 and new mp3 player) support flac and not ape, unless you are buying one of them there is no reason to change.

SQ wize: "Lossless = Lossless"

CPU-wize: some use more processor to encode, some to decode . . .

Battery-life-wize: those using more CPU to decode (playback) could be a factor in portable playback regarding battery life

Support-wize: depends on your player/software/firmware
