I noticed the Buy It Now price is for cash-only. Paypal is + 3% which contravenes the T&C's of Ebay.

Considering the K1000 was selling new for GBP 595 before the K1000 was discontinued, $1299 only represents an uplift of around GBP 130 or so. So maybe it isn't a bad deal for European buyers if they can avoid paying import duties and VAT.

I have reported ads that do this and eBay will get them removed - it is about the only thing they will respond to

As we know, they are discontinued, and difficult to get ahold of (let alone brand new). Properly amped, they are among (if not the) best dynamic headphones currently available today, at least in my (and many others) opinion. Knowing what I know now about the K1000s, if I didn't already own a pair, I wouldn't hesitate for a second to spend that much on a N.O.S. pair. Honestly the only regret I have regarding the K1000s is that I didn't buy two pairs when I could get them for $500.

Who would have thought the CD3000s would one day be selling for upwards of $700? Who would have thought that the Grado HP-2s would one day sell for upwards of $1500? Who would have thought that Grado HF-1s would one day be selling for upwards of $400?

Sometimes truth is stranger than fiction, and 'supply and demand' knows no bounds.

My advice to anyone who has an 'itch to scratch' regarding the K1000s is to get them while you can becuase the price will only go up from here.

I'm contemplating making an offer to him to throw in shipping to Canada for that price... it is high, even today..

But I'm worried that all he seems to sell is books and some boxes of what.. coffee whitener? I want to see the feedback from the guy who won the auction before I jump on it.

This is uncool...I had an auction back in the day that took hours to prepare/setup..(yes I saved it but somehow could not recover later) and eBay shut it down because I stated in the payment terms that I accepted Paypal from balance or check acct, but not CC payments form paypal.

(I have seen people with this working through the end of auction, but I myself did not know the update to the Ts&Cs until they killed my auction...I have thus since only accepted MO, Personal Check, or Cash because of this update in terms from paypal/ebay, and because not interested in being premiere member)

This seller is circumventing the eBay fee system, and is not authorized to say that he accepts paypal payments but only under certain criterion...not allowed, not cool, not happening

I reported this auction myself as outside the acceptable use policy, and general ebay/paypal guidelines..

Oh yeah,
Take a look at the negative someone just blasted him with, "be careful" may be relevent here too in the way of advice

I would recommend to search in this ebay section of the German ebay regularly http://audio.listings.ebay.de/Kopfho...istingItemList

Typicall prices at the moment for used K-1000 in MINT condition are under 500 Euro (660 Dollar).

Looks like eBay just pulled the listing. You know, one of these days I may have to investigate for myself what all the K1000 fuss is about.
