I am trying to burn in my headphones, but the only place to do so is in the computer room, so it bothers a lot of people. Is covering them (with say socks or something) safe?

All I have to say is that their awesome pair of headphones. Great sound stage, vocals are a bit too strong, you can feel the bass other than hearing it, and great for movies. Comfort is 4.5...

I know people bash on Bose because of they're over priced and I agree. I believe these retail for about $150 or so and I paid $85 for these due to employee discount at where I work. With that...

I can't see how that would be unsafe in any way. I used to do that when I burned in grado's

I've covered mine up too and it's never caused a problem. Just don't wrap them so tight that no air can escape from the cups.

Shouldn't hurt them at all. But make sure the socks are clean- the pads will pick up odors.
When I've done burn-in, I've left my headphones under pillows. I don't know if that's possible for you there, but it works fine. Also, you could leave them in a drawer with an iPod or other source.

You could also wrap them up with a few towels. Works pretty good to block the sound from escaping.
