the closest to broken these were was having a 1/8" plug. a chap radioshack, not the oem grado 1/4"

it turned to a blessing in disguize because it gave me a "no risk" option to recable with a 4-pin xlr plug (personal facorite headphone connector.) the ratshack plug had to go and it was only nominally harder to solder the 4-pin than a 1/4" trs type.

wow dude...

congrats again...

I still can't believe I missed that with how often I check ebay for grado's.

Somewhere along your journey for world domination you must have lost your hearing.

someone said the same thing to me at the NYC mini full size meet.
crazyness.

anyways, every time i have sat down to listen to these i am amazed by them. something new is always there to just say hello to me. its awsome.

the fact that you can lock the cups/drivers at an odd angle is great for comfort & soundstage. the all metalness is cool.

ooh, yea, they sound flipping sweet too.

A couple of comments:

I hate you for a couple of reasons:

1) For scoring those cans at that price.
2) For posting yet another picture of yourself shirtless doing horrbile things to a pair of headphones.

Honestly though, as for comment 1, that is just my extreme jealousy speaking. Seriously, congratulations on the deal of the century. I sincerley meant comment number 2 though.

I haven't met him so I'm gnashing my teeth like crazy!
At least for now we'll console ourselves with our more manly 1/4" stock terminations

i reterminated in neutrik 4-pin xlr. same as the one on the akg k1000, and a special option from akg for just about any studio headphone.

i built a 1/4"trs single ended adapter, and am working on a 2X3-pin xlr. i dont have a balanced amp worthy of these, it will take lots of motivation or my getting a worthy amp before i build a new one. i may build the balanced "mahagony cmoy" that was up on the diy pages. but then i would just put the 4-pin plug on it and be done.

the next time i see the balanced singlepower ppx, i will shed my adapter dongle and plug straight in.... see, im prepping for another nyc meet already.
