dont feel bad, i used to want a cannon f1. i still have my ae-1, it got me started in photography sadly it hasnt seen the light of dsay or a roll of film in YEARS due to absurd shutter bounce. then i used my fathers rebel for a summer. (i dont recall which variant, likely the first or second.) then i got a nikon system for myself. i like manual focus.
When I took photo in high school I used my mom's old Nikon F2. It was a nice camera. I always like it better than her newer F3. The aluminum and black looked more 70's and it just seemed more rugged (it had a big dent in it).

At least here in Germany a seller cannot refuse to sell the item since it is part of a legal contract. Some people still try but end up quite suprised if the winner is taking legal action.
I remember a case when someone auctioned his car via ebay. Obviously not satisfied with the result, he contacted the winner telling him that the car was damaged in the meantime and that he could not fullfill his part of the deal.
To his surprise the winner insisted on buying the car in whatever shape it was.
When the seller did not react, he took the whole thing to court.
Obviously the seller was offered a better price for his car and he had sold it outside of ebay. The court decided that the real value of the car was to be determined and that the seller had to pay the difference between the winning auction bid and the actual value as compensation to the ebay winner (+ all legal costs). Ouch!!!
Usually this does not make much sense by low value items but in a case like these headphones it would be worth the trouble.
US law will most likely differ but it is still a nice story.

Gah, wish I was german, would have gotten that Lambda pro I won for 50 euros instead of the seller getting to squeeze out of the deal -_-

update:
i have reterminated the "joseph grado signature ultra-wide bandwidth reference cable" with a neutrik 4-pin xlr. i also made a 4-pin xlr to 1/4" so i can plug into comon amps.

the cable is of suprizingly significant construction. i am very impressed with the efforts undertaken in its design. this cable is NOTHING like the newer grado rs1/rs2 cables. it is more like what i immagine the cardas headphone cable to be like.

i have nice cans too you know....

A working model usually goes for about $1000.

Maybe this one is broke so add in the cost of repairs?
