Should I upgrade my cabling?

Not too long ago I upgraded to my Signal Cable cables as a calculated move in anticipation of the then-future Arcam CD73 and a better amp down the road. Well, I now have the Arcam, everything's great, but I'm wondering if things could be even better if I upgraded the cables!

I'm considering the Signal Cable Silver Resolution specifically, because it's the most affordable silver cable I've seen and has gotten great reviews (and there's a free shipping promotion right now). Would that be a noticeable upgrade, or should I just stick to my copper cables? I'm also going to nab a 2006 AE-1 as soon as they're available, so I'd use the IC primarily with that and the Millett Hybrid.

I love highs btw, a lot more than deep bass - I crave resolution and clarity, but not at the expense of grating mids.

Rather or not it would be an upgrade is hard to say but it would certainly be different sounding. Based on your brief comments about prefering resolution and clarity I think silver would be the ticket for you... just be careful as silver can sound a bit thin and dry at times if not implamented correctly. I have never heard a CD73 but if it tends to be on the warmer side of neutrality I think silver cables would be a perfect fit for you.

The cheaper Nordost cables do this. The higher up in Nordost's line you go, the more bass you get.

Well I just ordered a silver cable yesterday, should be interesting to hear the results on both my Millett Hybrid and LDM+, though I doubt the LDM+ is sensitive enough to render the difference, but we'll see.

The CD73 does seem to be a tad bit warm so hopefully my preferential sound will emerge a bit more. I'd prefer warming to come from a tube amp or headphone so I'm working on eliminating it from source & cables.
