Headphile Senn V2 cable and my HD600

I want to start by saying that I do not believe in cables. I further want to say that in the past I have used various cables (Moon Audio Silver Dragon and Myo's) and did not hear a difference.

So I was not expecting much, except having a cable for my HD600 terminated on a 1/8" plug to use on the go. Today I received the cable, it is a 1.5 meter terminated in a 1/8" mini and uses Blacksilver cable.

Well I will have to eat my words. THE HEADPHILE SENN V2 cable makes a big differnce. Why this cable and not the other two I previously tried? Do not know, maybe sinergy.

With the Senn V2 cable the bass is deeper, more defined, and tighter. The trebble is more in your face but in a civilized way. Way better, I love it. I can only expect to get better with burn in.

I like Larry's Blacksilver cable's sound tonality on my woody CD3ks, but I really don't like the way he finishes them. The nylon sleeving he uses felt cheaper than the Black Dragon cable I had on my SA3ks, and the self adhesive shrink tubing looks a little messy when the glue oozes out a bit on the edge, although I don't really care for the layered heat-shrink on Drew's cables either, I guess I'm just too OCD .

Headphile Senn v2

And... how about the mids? Are they warm and weighty... or a bit lean, cold and sterile?

So... overall... it doesn't have the sterile, lean, overly bright sound often attributed to silver cables?

I guess the reason I like the Cardas... is that it seems to have great weight, impact, and texture, as well as clarity and detail and fairly bright highs, with a bit of warmth - which complements an otherwise bright system (except for my HD650's).

I'm up for even greater clarity, detail, definition and impact (even more of a Gradoish sound), but I sure don't want a lean, overly bright, or sibilant sound.

I've been waiting for the new version of the Zu to come out this summer - because the current version gets such great reviews with the HD650's... and it reportedly produces the sound I describe above.

But... if the Senn v2 does also... well then...
