Announcement: 2007 International Meet to be held in San Jose, California! - Page 9

I would really like to go to such a meet, but being in CA it is very expensive to fly from Europe. Maybe in 2008 I'll be able to afford a trip to the USA! Or even be living and working there). Good luck guys!!!

If Johnnie Numbers is organizing a brewery tour and Tyrion and Stevieo will be there too, then maybe a weekend needs to be turned into a long weekend!

I have to ask my parents though

Son, you may go. I expect you will hang out with the right crowd.

Young Aaron - stay away from that crowd - they are rough trade.

Count me in, I'll be attending.

Here's a vendor idea -
How about getting a major tube vendor to attend; like Vacuum Tube Valley, or Tube World, etc.

Last year we tried very hard to have online and local music vendors come (many phone calls and e-mails) but they didn't think it would be worth their while (MusicDirect, AcousticSounds, ElusiveDisc, Chesky Records and so on...).

I spent a lot of time on it and Tyll used all of his contacts to no avail. Perhaps if we could use this year's National Meet videos to coerce (er, I mean "nudge") the music vendors they can see the success of the current attendees from this year.

I envisioned having a member walk over to a table with a 1000 CD's for sale (at a show price) pick a couple out for purchase and play them in familiar setups, and then ones they've only read about and never heard.

A win-win for all!

Having some good labels at the meet would rock hard. I would love to see Chesky there.

Oh boy. I just looked at the calendar, and there is a real chance that there may be a significant conflict in my "schedule" in April.

Being that Chesky is in NY and we couldn't persuade him, the other coast would be even more difficult. In Bayside all they had to do was drive over with a van and some milk crates. I know Tyll knows them and they started with a "maybe" and worked backwards to a "no"

That's about the only valid excuse for a die hard Head-Fier to not come

That, and triple bypass surgery.

I might now be able to make it over.

I'd certainly love to. Fingers crossed.

I doubt that airport security would allow you to bring the surrounder with you though

Tentative offer to attend in 2007
