I've seen this guy once when I was going home from eating out. This bloke had the Westone ES5s (with the emerald green exotic materials).  I wanted to talk to him, but then I thought it would be too strange to talk to myself, so I literally shut the fu*k up and just went home. Hahaahahah :D

Haha, well, to be serious now, I saw a few guys in Seoul, where I lived for 1 year, with UE Customs, I don't know if they were the 13s or 18s, but more like the 13s. The guy had them hooked to his phone and they had no custom art.

I also went to Soundcat in Seoul and there some girl was getting the Westones... too bad she was paying $1,450 just for the base model, no custom art and no "Rush Order". I wanted to talk to her about getting them from the US (I got mine from a popular store) for a much lower price, including exotic materials, rush order and maybe a longer cable, since the 48' is just too short in my opinion BUT she was already getting her impressions.  Well, her loss.

And that's it. too sad so many people there use Apple's earbuds like CRAZY. They're literally everywhere. Not to mention the Beats....

And that's it with my sightings, if I remember more, I'll certainly share them.

I see many Beats by Dre unfortunately. Apart from them I saw 2 AT M50's and many more Senn's including HD 25 and Amperior. Lots of earphones from Philips and Sony.

For the moment I couldn't see a person with a serious high level gear. Me? I have GMP 8.35D and because of their size everyone looks at me twice, first to see somebody with headphones not earphones and second oh god they are huge he looks so silly smily_headphones1.gif

Yes, I can read minds biggrin.gif

Edit: Forgot to mention several HDJ2000, mobile DJs on fire smily_headphones1.gif

Wait, you saw Customs in Seoul? I've never seen a audiophile IEM in Seoul besides Klipsch X10.

Bay Area born and raised, just like OP! (I go to Gunn high school)

At my school, I've seen HD25, turbine pro copper, klipsch X10i, ATHM50, VMODA M80s, a lot of XB500 (if they count) Yamaha pro 400/500 and ultrasone DJ1

You should still listen before you buy, especially when dropping that kind of money. There's a store in montreal called "Audioshop" that has both the sr007mki and sr007mk2 with the bundled amplifier from stax. If you really wanted they could special order the sr009 but do not have one to audition. It would be a good idea to try it before you buy since quality in the higher echelons is a lot more subjective (like personally I don't like the grado sound for the most part).

Hmm, I preferred the Sr009 quite a bit more than his 007 albeit it being less musicaly engaging; that can be fixed with the system. But tastes do differ. The transparance and pin point imaging is very impressive. I'd rank my HD800 rig in between the two stax in terms of sound texture and sound quality however with more bass texture than both the stax and transparence on par if not greater than the 007. I'd also place the HE6 with lcd3 pads and mcintosh mc225/ NAD m51 over the WES, woo transport and 007's as well overall, but the high frequencies aren't quite as extended. However the mids are greater than any other headphone I've heard besides the orpheus which I tried at Sennheiser Canada after the show. Now those are not fair and could only wish to own them :/

If the 009's were a bit cheaper I'd probably get them as end games; but for now i'm pretty darn close with what I have + I have more variety. I'll most likely wait for Senn's next flagship, hoping the headphones aren't colored

Yesterday I was watching -again- the movie "Queen of the Damned (2002)" and just noticed the main character wearing Sennheisers during one of the scenes. Crappy iPod pic.

Btw, Aaliyah looks stunning in 1080p. Hard to digest she's gone. frown.gif (rip)

Today I saw German-MAESTRO's at Brussel-Belgium. Holy crap it is the second GM I saw in real life after mine. However I saw it from a distance I couldn't check the model. It was either 8.35D or 8.300. Anyway they are identical, the differences comes in sound. I wish I could speak with him just to learn his opinion about GM and how he finds the sound charecteristics of the cans. Too bad that I was in the bus he was walking outside.

(As if I could really speak with him if we were in the same place - Mr. shy reported)

Same here, got one guy to buy grados (after he borrowed mine for a few weeks), got another friend to buy DT880 for mastering the recordings he does. I also got my brother into headphones. Besides the beats and apple earbuds I see Grados popping up every now and then. I work in an outdoor shop and have already had two people come in with grados in the past 2 months, I've also occasionally seen people wear them in uni. V-moda also seems to be increasing in popularity among students. One guy in one of my tutorials has a Bose quite comfort 15. I also saw one guy with what I am pretty sure was T5 on the street (very nice). When I was in Amsterdam about a year and a half ago I saw a guy with modded Grados which was very cool.
