Saw a guy walk out of the music store with a pair of KRK KNS8400's. Demoed them myself, quite tempted to get a pair for portable use, also demoed the Beyer 250 which I found to be a big let down.

Quote:If it gets people thinking about objective sound quality as at least one important factor, and being willing to pay more than a $20 for better sound, without going the way of their basketball playing style mentors - then they served their job admirably. If nothing else, that increased market movement should spur manufacturers to step up the number and quality of their offerings in the $70-150 range.

I was on a flight from New Orleans into Washington, DC and noticed a guy a few rows ahead of me was wearing V-Moda M80s... then realized they were too large and must be the 100s. He happened to be right in front of me on the way off the plane so I asked him: "Hey, are those the new m100s?" When he looked blank, I said "the headphones, those are V-Moda 100s right? I haven't seen a pair yet. Do you like them?"
He looked at me and started: "Uh, yeah, I guess they are. A friend of mine bought them and let me borrow them because he thought I'd like them. I love them and for my DJ'ing I won't use anything else anymore... and he's not getting them back."post #7793 of 908411/17/12 at 12:01amQuote:Originally Posted by moses667

Quote:My DJ friend uses Skytronic or some similar own-brand crap from an electronics supplier of the same name. His attitude is "you need something you can hold against your ear while you cue up. Sound quality isn't as important as something you can throw in a bag, lose, or accidentally break. They look like giant 70s headphones and cost like £3+VAT & delivery.Originally Posted by fjeena

I was totally expecting him to have something good too, but apparently a lot of professional DJs don't use pro headphones. Go figure.Return HomeBack to Forum: Headphones (full-size)- Headphone Sightings 2
