He probably "tuned" it just as much, if not more, as Dre would have the Beats. I actually heard some similarities between the usual mastered stuff from JYP (2PM, his own albums) and the sound sig of the Tears.

Soundstage yes (for a closed pair), treble, not so much. The bass is pretty tight, unlike, say, how SM masters their stuff to be a bit bloomy in the low end. Imagine 2AM vocals for the midrange coloration, and there you have the Tears.

It's the person wearing them that makes the headphones. But I've yet to see someone wear these with manly authority as of yet.
Though, paint these jet black, and you've got yourself a badass headphones shaped like tears of tar, and coal, and other dirty, gruff stuff

Quote:Yikes, the diamond tears to me sounded overly bassy and boxed in; I think I'd even take the pro's over them... :S (and I'd never own a headphone like the pro at this point)
But the worst headphone I've listened to recently, again by monster, is the inspiration. I mean if all you want is bass, and for it to be literally in your face...sure... They sound atrocious

Wow, it's really weird how different your impressions are from mine. Of course, there's "YMMV" and all that stuff, but I though one of their hallmarks was the relatively tight bass and sort of large stage. Completely contrasts what you've heard. Really weird. I'll give the benefit of the doubt and say it's an error on my part. I was lent these for half a day, so not very through impressions.

I actually saw a clear brown Aviator on campus today. They matched the guy's outfit quite well (brown "leather" jacket and gold-frame sunglasses) so they looked surprisingly good.I saw a couple phantom chrome V-MODA Crossfade LP's too.

I saw 20+ cheap sonys, beats, skullcandys and ibuds. For the first time I saw some $150 bose headphones today. I almost think that you have to be less intelligent to buy bose products over beats.People that buy beats are oblivious to sound and every one just flocks to them assuming theyre the best. but if this dude bough bose he thinks that bose headphones actually sound good...
