The LCD-2's sound is much darker than that of the SRH940 and the soundstage is very narrow in comparison to the SRH940 as well. Treble presence and sparkle of the SRH940 are in a completely different league than the LCD-2 from my experience (like LCD-2 vs HD800 or HE-500).

I agree with the bass though. Although the SRH940 is lean on the bass compared to the LCD-2, the LCD-2's bass seemed a bit bloated to my ears, making the mids seem very thick and warm.

Yeah, highs in terms of performance were completely different, but soundstage differences don't register well with me when it comes to open vs. closed. Just a personal nitpick I suppose. I still love how the 940's work for every genre. IF EQ'D RIGHT

I'll have to try EQing but the stock SRH940 was just overly tinny/bright with no bass at all.

Saw a guy with some shure 840s at uni today, his pocket was looking especially bulky, I guess he was amping them.

Came out of the gym to see a person wearing monster inspirations. My thoughts, "Well, at least it's not beats..."

Saw someone the other day wearing a pair of sony XB-700s and they looked EXTREMELY comfortable, also saw someone with a cheap pair of sennheisers but didn't get a good look at them except for the headband.

I can't believe you can't hear the low end on the 940's, it's definitely there.

+1

My main point of comparison isn't the best being the phonak 112, but they're not lacking in bass IMO

I saw someone on a bus passing by wearing Sony headphones with red accents similar to the new MDR-1 headphone, but it had a folding/swivel? hinge mechanism. I was staring at them the whole time the bus passed by because I was so excited that I thought they were the new MDR-1, until I saw the folding/swivel hinge.

Union Station in Los Angeles - 6:00 a.m. - a guy with some serious dreads was wearing HD 448.

My parents are from Trinidad. I visit there every two years, but it seems to me that now we're visiting every year since my grandfather keeps having all these heart problems....
