Saw a tall (not too old) man with a pair of Beyerdynamic T50p in the bus today. I was surprised because I mainly see Beats everywhere.

Gear mentioned in this thread:

On the 38 Geary driving past me while I was waiting to cross the street, I noticed a guy who was sitting inside the bus wearing Beyer DT880's.

Earlier in the week I saw two high schoolers walking to lunch. One of them had Tours dangling out of his t-shirt collar, but played his music out of his phone's speaker.

I suppose he just wanted to share his music instead of wearing his earphones. And without sharing the earphones.

Could be. I read long ago they're basically the same, notable difference being the plug (40fs uses the larger plug, while the 45 uses 3.5mm plug and comes with a screw-on adapter) . It seems the 40fs is easier to come by than the 45 because the 40fs is widely listed (Audio Technica's website, Amazon, etc.) I came by my 45 from Guitar Center.

Looking at your first picture closely, those seem likely to be the 40fs (kinda hard to tell with the bokeh but I think I can discern the fs).

At my school  I see mainly Beats Solo's, 2 Studio's, some Sony on Ear's, Klipsch Image One, Skullcandy Hesh, one Over Ear Skullcandy, lots of ear buds (iBuds mainly), iFrogz, one Philips on ear, Akg on ear something, and one Ath-M50. And that's about it. But soon, one of my friends will have either M80's or HD 25 1 II's. And I will have something, I'm thinking about Philips CitiScape Uptown or Philips Fidelio L1.

And I saw someone on a bus recently wearing some Bose, I couldn't tell which type, but it doesn't matter anyways.

I saw a kid at my school with m-50s! The only other real headphone sighting I'd had was noise-canceleing creatives at the YMCA.
