The ATH M-50 appears to be made of mostly plastic, but I've never really worked out exactly what they're made of. I've only seen a grand total of one in real life and have never handled one personally, so I could be wrong though. I'm not sure which amp will go well with the M50 for that reason too. FiiO generally makes good value-for-money amps though so if you need a cheap one you can't go wrong with a FiiO.

Saw a HD448 and a Momentum at SF's Union Square yesterday.

ATH M50's are some hard, durable plastic. I couldn't tell you the exact details (due to not knowing), but they're built strong. They also have metal in the headband, I'm pretty sure. My friend owns M50s.

The m50 are mostly plastic but trust me, it's built like tank! As for budget friendly amp, there is the CMOYBB, E6/07K smily_headphones1.gif

I flew threw O'Hare today (my usual connection is Atlanta, but there were some scheduling issues), and spotted a UE6000 and a couple V-Modas. The rest were the usual airport faire.

The super-soft zip-lock headband pad always gives it away for me.

Aww yess. A V-MODA Crossfade LP sighting. V-MODA makes some of the most head-fitting headphones out there that don't make you look like you're wearing a ballon, football, or bear trap on your head.

Well, minus the M-80 that is. That thing barely fits on my head.

V-Moda were meant to be a stylish headphone. The M-80 fits and looks fine on me as I'm 13 and I don't have watermelon of a head.

Stupid AutoCorrect, I meant doe, and I also forgot the hyphen in M-80.
