Ooh so you're gonna DIY a desktop dac/amp eh? Well that wouldn't be much of a sighting haha. I don't get why some young audiophiles would rather build up their home rig first when usually youngsters go out and therefore would need portability. Would you care to explain that to me?

Maybe Skullcandy Aviators?

Similar shape, but the cups were real wood, and the headband attached to the sides of the cup, not the top. Plus there was some lettering on the cups, probably a model name, but it was too small to read.

Out here at college, I'm seeing lots and lots of people with M50s. Like, a shocking amount of them. It's almost as if my college is made of Head-Fi'ers that started right around the time when M50 was the default suggestion for people who were new to headphone audio.

Or maybe a box full of M50s fell off a truck and they were handing them out during freshmen introduction :D

Unfortunately, no. That would've been pretty cool, though. 1400+ freshmen all getting a free M50? I'd be down for that.

Terrible idea. Planar magnetic headphones are heavy. If it's gonna be raining headphones, it should be something much lighter. MA900, perhaps?

Watching college football (Stanford VS Oregon State) I saw an OSU player walking into the stadium wearing Sony XB500s.  I jumped up off the couch pointing at the screen and yelled "HE ISN'T WEARING BEATS!!!!!"

Yes, it is rare to see an athlete not wearing beats.
