Headphone Sightings 2

I thought that the last headphone sighting was getting a bit long, so I decided to start a new one, if that's ok...

HEADPHONE SIGHTING TODAY!!!

I just started summer school yesterday at St. Francis High School in Mountain View. There are kids from St. Francis as well as kids from different schools. Some are taking it for credit (like me, cause I failed ), and some are taking it for enrichment. There are middle school'ers too, doing a summer program. All sorts of kids everywhere.

After school, In the front, I saw this girl my age (14-16, maybe a year higher or lower, years old) sitting on the bench, listening to these headphones. I was thinking, "Hmmm... are those Grados? No, that can't be--nobody my age, especially a girl, would know about Grados!" But I decided to take a closer look, to walk past her and steal a look without her noticing. When I got closer, I was pretty damn sure they were Grados. I asked, "Hey, are those Grados?" She said, "What?" I said, "Those headphones." Then, to my utter disappointment, she said, "Oh, I don't know. My dad gave them to me." Then I said, "Oh. Those are SR-80's! Very nice headphones... expensive..." (expensive to non-head-fi'ers) She said thanks, as her ride came to pick her up.

Wow, my first headphone sighting, and it was a Grado! Her dad must be a head-fi'er. So if you're a father of a daughter that's taking a summer program at St. Francis High School in Mountain View, then speak up!

I see a guy on my way to school with Silver AT Clip-Ons. I only see him when I am late to school and he is a big guy so I never have time to ask him. If you have silver AT Clip-Ons and take Q train from Kings Hwy in Brooklyn PM ME!!!!

Alas, I was not the daddy, but I am a father of a daughter on the Peninsula who will someday sport high-end cans in high school (rule: no crappy cans allowed in this family! And stay away from non-audiophile boys!). Unfortunately, she's only 22 months right now, so that day will be quite a while away, but I can't wait to pass on to her my L3000s (giving me an excuse to get the L10,000s that'll be out by then!).

good to hear about some guys around my area

Go NorCal! Anyways, I was in socal at several universities. It was very disappointing, for I saw 1 SR-60 but 4 QC-2s and tons of ibuds. Sheesh. Some of my buds at Harker have good stuff though like an RS-1 and a CD3k and an AKG 501, for example. I have to respect those, even though i've got 701s

lmao

head-fi females?

I remember in the picture (naked) thread, someone said for the ladies to come out, and then kramer said, "NO THANKS! Not from this crowd." lol.

Other than that girl (I don't even know which school she goes to. Didn't even have time to introduce myself, because her ride arrived right after the headphone thing), I don't know any highschooler head-fi'ers.

Good to know there are highschool head-fiers around my area.

So I'm dogsitting for the parents of my, well I guess she's a friend now...anywho, her mom makes me fantastic strawberry rhubarb pies so I'm happy to watch the little bugger for them. I'm sitting over at their house watching tv, and I spot some headphones on their keyboard in the corner, I see a metal band and it was folded up, to my dismay it was a set of portapros.
Pretty old and beat up, but their appearance suprised me. I'm now very proud of them.

The only respectable headphones I've seen at my high school was one pair of KSC-75's. I normally sport my HD280's to school, and I brought my 701's and PINT amp to school once and people were really impressed my the sound.

A girl tried to argue with me that the size my HD280's was unneccessary but then I told her that she'd never heard them. pwn. There's such a public distate for anything other than iBuds or Sony phones.

I got told on numerous ocassions at my last job that my AKG K26P's were huge lmao....So I decided to wear my Sen HD485 needless to say I think they get the drift on what is big and what isn't...

OP, you're in summer school because you failed ?
Maybe you're spending too much time listening to/looking out for headphones
post #13 of 11355
Recently, I saw a guy at the gym with some EC7's, and another with Portapro's

Nevertheless, just to reiterate, at my school, I've seen:

DT880, k701, ms1, and Headphiled CD3000 (skyline889)

And others like px100's, E3C's, E2C, Sony's, a bunch of Bose, and my MS2i

MAYBE!!! After getting my iM716's, I actually prefer listening to music with them over playing video games! Now that's something. But then again I'm not that much of a gamer.

Nah, it wasn't because of head-fi. It was because I got a D+ (probably borderlining a C-, which is a passing grade, but if you had my teacher you'd understand) in spanish for the first semester. I just wasn't trying hard enough. After 2nd semester, I got a C+ in spanish (it is impossible to excel in her class), so I only have to take half of summer school. But that's my only C. On my report card, I got a 3.0! w00t.

No worries, head-fi is perfectly healthy

If he isn't kidding, PM ME .

Nice to see ye olde thread come back. Nothing too exciting since I saw the E3gs. Some cheap JVCs and at least a zillion MDR-v150s. I wonder how much money sony makes on the 150s themselves.
