Custom Balanced Power Conditioner

I've finally finished my custom Balanced Power Conditioner. I'm pleased with the way it turned out.
The parts cost is about $750, using a 1.5 KV balanced power transformer. If you built one without the audiofool parts it would be about $350. The ACME outlets are $45 each, and the Siltech input power cable is $300.
I'm very please with the sonic results. Dynamics have been improved and bass slam is dramatically improved.

Very impressive. I've been looking to build my own stabilizer, although not quite at that quality!

LOL

You guys are like the same person... except he is a bit older.

I've got to say though that his looks just a bit more professional than your hack job.

You haven't seen picks of the inside of mine. I can't say the oneac case is the best looking on the outside but it does the job and looks the same on the outside as it did before I replaced all the internal parts (ie. not like a hack job). Plitron donuts are sexy. ^^

Ha! The humor here will be lost except for those who have read that specific thread elsewhere.

Funny thing is that I have used the handle BigE elsewhere, since my first initial is E it made sense. Yikes has more to do with the sound I make just before I crash or fall off of a cliff or some such.

Thanks I tried to make it neat and professional.

My transformer doesn’t have a fancy name (Plitron), although it was speced specifically for this application. I also like the silver plated cryogenically treated Acme outlets. I am very pleased with the results. Perhaps I’ll look into making more of them, on second thought I don’t really have the time.

Should I have posted this in the DIY section?

I think you should have at least 3 slots for outlets on the back. That way you can put 3 different AC outlets in and use their different flavors to match various gear you have.

I have extensively used ACME silver/cryo outlets as well as Hubbell, Pass $ Seymour, Leviton, and now even Oyaide, and they ALL sound very different.

ACME is great for focus, detail, bass definition, but sometimes you may want to plug your digital gear into something a little warmer and "wet" llike Hubbell 5362 IG. But maybe your tubed gear want to be plugged into the ultra-suave yet detailed (and kind of bass-light) Oyaide SWO-XXX outlet...

I believe that the Acmes are Pass & Seymour's

Personally I have little interest in comparing the sound of different outlets. I purchased the Acmes because of the Silver plating and the cryo didn't hurt.

What I'm thinking of now is seeing if I can have a similar transformer made with Siltech. A 1.5 KV Balanced power transformer with Siltech windings.

Now that would be silly expensive.

Plitron is local to me so it was a no brainer going with one of their transformers. My previous transformer hummed like a bitch so I eventually tossed it after many failed attempts at quieting it.

I like the fancy volt and amp meters on your unit. ^^

What is the model number of the transformer in yours Biggie? Or was it a custom job?

6129-v2-00

I also have the part numbers for a couple of bpt transformers but those are a bit more then I wanted to spend hehe.
