What's a good mini-mini cable? - Page 2

One more

I have an 8" AG-8 w/ gold plated straight Neutrik connectors, black teflon tubing, and black sleeving shown in the top photo here:

I love it.

Lots of great cables out there.

Alright, just an update. I got the Silver Dragon from a fellow Head-Fier and it sounds pretty good, much better than the Belkin one I was using.

However, I borrowed my friend's Cardas HP1 cable and it sounds much clearer than the Silver Dragon? The Cardas is crisp and sound is nicely separated and dynamic while the Silver Dragon while good, sounds all mushed up; there is hardly any separation in the various sounds. It changes the dynamic nature of the Grado a bit, which I don't like. I don't think it's a good compliment to the Grado sound signature. Hrm... so now I'm thinking the Silver Dragon isn't all it's cracked up to be.

Now I'm looking to get another mini-mini, something that retains the sound signature of the Cardas or compliments Grado phones nicely. Which would be a good choice?

Try a Diamond Reference Mini-Mini from Myo (rnb180).

I use 18" of this to hook up my portables with my mini amps. I also own Grado SR 225's (and formerly 125's), and can attest this cable really opens things up soundwise. And you wouldn't believe the bass! Highs are always nice and clear too. I'm not sure on his present pricing, but I'm sure you could get the Diamond Reference Mini for around between $79 and $99.

You can contact him here on HeadFi, through the Members of the Trade forum. You can also view photos of his work through the links provided there.

He also sells on ebay, under the name RnBaudio.

Another vote for the Wyvern Audio mini's. I have a few and they are very impressive. The Ag-16 is expensive but worth it; the construction and sound are great. If you want something more flexible the Ag-8 is also nice -- you'll have to see these cables to believe it.

Zynsonix VRAY Prime or EYS will fit the bill nicely. Some of the best mini to minis out there.

Myo makes great cables. I completely agree with your description of his products!

Alright, thanks guys. I think I'm going to go with either the RnB or the Zynsonix EYS.

Shameless plug, but anyone interested in the Silver Dragon? Perhaps we can do a swap.

I have one of Myo Black Diamond mini-to-mini with angle adapters on it. This thing is so great sounding. My only issue is that since I've changed portable rigs, I now need a cable that is half this long and with straight adapters.

You may want to consider one of Ken's mini-mini products from ALO. audiolineout.com
