Will this setup work? Amp, Speaker, Computer question.

I plan on purchasing a Pioneer Elite A-35R amp and some small Bookshelf speakers to use with my computer as the source. The size of my desk only allows for the equipment to be less than a foot away from the monitor.

I am unsure if magnets in the speakers will affect my computer monitor (a 19" crt, possibly a 19" LCD later on) or if that amp in the mix will cause any problems.

The speakers will probably be some cheap Infinity Primus or Polk Audio speakers.

speakers will not effect an LCD monitor. They will effect a CRT monitor if they are (1) close, and (2) not shielded. If you are going to have speakers close to a crt monitor, then you need shielded speakers.

Alright, thanks. I started speaker shopping and the ones I am looking at are shielded, so all is good.

Shielded speakers can still affect your monitor if you pump them hard enough, so keep it in mind.
