For a bit of a mood lifter after a bunch of angry threads and posts I've been reading, I thought it might be nice to make a thread about something I've come to appreciate in the last few months and have learned a butt-load of wisdom about a world I had no idea was so large and complex, and thank Head-Fi for being such a well run forum and a community of mostly happy and kind hearted people. While you'll never be able to have a perfect community where everybody gets along since there are so many different personalities and opinions, one thing is for sure. We are all held together by a binding glue that is a love for Headphones and Music in general, whether we like it or not. I seem to learn something new everyday here and love helping others that are in similar situations that I have experienced.
One good thing that has come from all of the different opinions around here that I normally don't agree with, is that I have been introduced to a lot of great things that I would never have tried if it were not for the people around here. It's always nice to hear other peoples opinions, especially when I have a lot of respect for them, at least as much respect as can be garnered from an internet forum relationship, which is more than I thought was possible before joining HF. It's so nice to have people that actually care about and have the same passions about this hobby and the people trying to get it figured out.
Now I know I am still very much new and green to HF, and I don't by any means claim to be experienced at this stuff, but I love to be able to give input where I do think I have something useful to say. I do like to spend a lot of time in the members lounge, but I have also tried my hand at contributing a few things to the headphone, music and amp forums as well. More will come as my experience grows. It's so nice to be able to find an answer to just about any question I have, and if it isn't there, people are very quick to respond to my questions, which is so great.
Anyway, I would just like to thank Head-Fi and the members within for their help with such a sometimes frustrating, but mostly very gratifying hobby. I would never have the great equipment I do now and would probably only have my etys and ipod to this day, which is just not right. You guys are great!
Thanks y'all!
Slade
PS. Hope this didn't come off as too cheesy to anyone, but I just thought I needed to lighten things up a bit and show my gratitude...
PSS. Forgot to mention that if I've pissed any of you off with any of my comments, sorry. I do get worked up and very opinionated about some stuff, I truly mean no harm, and of course it's all IMO!
