Best MP3 player to buy - Page 2

Would it be too obvious to suggest an iPod?

Both Nano models are in your price range and are excellent performers. Further, iPods have lots of support, aftermarket accessories and you can always sell it for a fair price later.

It's all good

Thanks for the help guys. I think I've been an audiophile all along and didn't know it. It's not my fault though......it runs in the family. My Dad and brother are closet audiophiles. I know, I know it's a slippery slope but here I go.

I just never knew music could sound so good.

I'll start my MP3 research this week.

Have you considered the iAudio U3?, it's got all the features you listed except that the larger version comes in 2GB, it's pretty small and packed full of features.

is there an Texas Instruments 24bit DAC based flash player, with FM radio?

Those are the only things i want on a DAP:
-The best decoder;
-Flash disk;
-FM radio;

If possible, as small as possible and long lasting battery!

with 300 bucks you can get a used ipod photo 60gb. that'll hold all the music you have and while hiking you can listening to some rock and hip hop to pump you up and once you reached the top of the mountain you can switch to some classical music to enjoy the view. then some r&b on the way down and back home.

Cowon iAudio X5

I just purchased the 30gig Cowon iAudio X5 hearing that they have great sound and FLAC capability.
It's sitting here on my desk in the package still at work, I'll give a run down of it when I get home, or in the next few days or two when I get more use of it.

I second the U3 suggestion. It's extremely portable, full of features, and sounds great. Ive used it a ton with the UM1s and it's wonderful, especially after a little bit of eq tweaking. As an added bonus, both the player and the UM1s (Im assuming UM2s do too) fit into that black case Westone gives you, very convenient .

You could try kenwood A9 if the money is not a problem.

Japanese claim that A9 is The BEST mp3 player available in the market today.

Best MP3-player (or in this case, multimedia player) money can buy? Cowon A2.
