Let's talk Psytrance and Goa... - Page 7

How come whenever somebody mentions a classic goa track "LSD" is always the Hallucinogen track. I think "Shamanix" is a way better track.

Hmm, probably because LSD is more accessible. Everything sounds incredibly smooth and easy; it's not "trying to", it just is. Not a second do i get distracted by a "it's just someone tweaking knobs" feeling, not many tracks can achieve that.
Too bad it's so short though, it ends right when it gets amazing.

Shamanix is a brillant track as well, crazier and more interesting than LSD.
But the melodies don't sound quite "fitting" and "natural" imo, like from 2:00 to 3:05.. i find that pretty awful to be honest lol.
Something else i don't like throughout the track is one of the synth used (starting from 5:30 to basically the end), it just sounds silly and irritating to me.

Other tracks from Hallucinogen that i don't hear of as often would be "Orphic Trench", "Alpha Centauri", "Dark Magus", and "Space *****".

the Great Mundane is... great

such quality and variety of sounds!

lately I am finding I like a lot of what comes out of Austrailia... quite a few things from Giiwa productions, and Don Peyote - Peyote Dreaming (CD, Album) at Discogs has stood out among the flock

so I've been getting back into DJ'ing recently. much with the help of this thread

thought I would share the first mix I ever recorded a few years back. this was after first touching the decks only a month before... some of the early transitions are a little looser than I'd like but... lemme know what you think! it represents my earlier tastes in psytrance while I was still finding my sound.

Squarefade - Firstlight Found

Don Peyote also has an album out that was mixed especially for headphone listening called Between Worlds.
It was done using HemiSync technology I think.
Discogs doesn't have info on it, but this is the album that was remixed:
Don Peyote and Rezin - Between Worlds (CD, Dig) at Discogs

Congrats on the djing!

Topp 10 Suomi IMO (I would include some other groups too but they were not available in HQ stream)
Please take a listen cause its very good quality and they have talent + high creativity over in Finland..

(not in order)
Aavepyörä - O-Vals Nice Scandinavian folkmusic.
Aavepyörä - Dance of tomorrow This is a very good goa track. Fits right in the 90's "Golden era".
James Reipas - We Are Not Intelligent This track is so genial.
James Reipas - Baltic Sea So light, so happy, so BEAUTIFUL
James Reipas - Creatures Ohh. Pumping harder and harder. Funky and involving
Luomuhappo - Haapaneitty Beautiful, calm, morning? music
Luomuhappo - Luuloterve This goes faster. How do he do that? Did he make this song in his own image? YES
Lemon Slide - Dear Me Soo Groovie.
Lemon Slide - Unfortunate Facts Very Suomi. Love the "playing" bass they use.
Huopatossu Mononen - Mua Pelottaa (bailuvaino-mix) What can i say?? This track is very PIMP like the cover shows. I like it a lot.

Peacy!!
