It happened a couple of days ago actually. I have really slowed down lately, been getting out a lot more. I figure it's better not to celebrate my post count, since I still don't know JACK about this hobby, but it's been fun! Thanks for noticing...

my "someone's talking about me" radar went off and i saw a blurb a few pages back (sorry, didn't read the whole thing!) and i want to make this point.

no one here needs to prove that they can post more than me, either in frequency or in volume. if you want to see folks who lap me several times over, go to gaiaonline.com, which is targeted towards the 'tweens of the world. Some of them have threads that they have for the sole purpose of increasing post count, with thousands of posts with just the word "BUMP" in it. i'm certain no one wants to have that kind of mentality end up here - after all, it's a headphone forum, not a post bumping mechanism, right?

Well since this thread is ten pages long and already full of off topic stuff, I don't feel bad posting here.

One, when you posted that you had had them for a few days past a month, so a month and a few days now translates into a few, which means three or more, months? Gee I really should have thought about it before posting.

Two, after all the hub-bub about it that I found after I bought it, I contacted Creative directly the guy told me that the Audigy 2ZS Platinum Pro did not upsample but said he was unsure of Creative's lower end cards, gee I guess I should have caught that one too, maybe you're accustomed to be lied to, I'm not, the guy was employed by Creative to deal with FAQs' about their soundcards why should I question his answers? That's like going into a restaurant and asking what the special of the day is and then telling the waitress she's wrong and doesn't know what she's talking about.

Three, brah, you didn't even know what a Meridian GO8 was, you didn't know what a Marantz integrated amplifier looked like even though you own a Marantz receiver. You've owned one headphone, no real source, no real amplifier, nothing.

Four, the only advice you give is to upgrade to something that you own or something similar to what you own.

And five, you recommend things to people and are constantly telling people that the stuff they own is outdated and crappy or that it looks like crap, while you're still running a 300 ohm heapdhone directly out of a soundcard, and thinking a Marantz 2216B is heavenly, which you stated in the vintage article thread, while in actuality is was one of the crappiest receiver's Marantz has ever produced, tinny highs and muddy bass, not to mention underpowered for a lot of today's speakers at only 16 wpc (Back then, probably isn't that now).

And lastly, while you're telling everyone to upgrade their stuff since it's old and busted, your mommy is out buying you all of your stuff. And don't give me that, every job for thirteen year old's is BS again, mow a lawn, do some dishes, clean your house (Or at least your room, yeech), it's not like there's nothing you can do to earn money. I've been spoiled too, there's no doubt about that, and I'm lucky to have parents that are able to give me nice things on occasion but even I've been doing chores since I was really little, and my parent's don't even believe in allowance. I also got a job the first chance I got, which was a paperboy job, when I was thirteen, it paid peanuts but who cares it felt good to get handed that paycheck. And while I'm spoiled my parents haven't paid for a dime of my audio rig, all the money they've given me has been reimbursed, I paid for my entire computer rig, and the monitor and keyboard too which you have time and time again classified as outdated and "needs to be replaced". They pay for my insurance, the roof over my head, the food on the table, and my education and I don't expect them to do anymore, I especially don't expect them to buy new amps and cd players and tuners for me.

Don't even get me started on that I'm a thirty year old trapped in a thirteen year old body, I'm so mature, no one understands me baloney. Oooh, I dress in a dress shirt and slacks to differentiate myself from my underlings. Get a life man, oops guess you can't do that since you don't have any friends to hang out with.

Yep, the transaction did take place back at the meet in April. It was successful. End of story people.

There's been plenty of strong criticism of JaG in this thread, some it deservedly so, and there have been many other kind but critical members who have gently tried to help him appreciate the nuances of belong to an adult community that respects thoughtfulness, maturity, and experience. But he's in grade 8 folks, and clearly making an attempt to participate and increasingly contribute to these boards in a constructive manner. Yes, he doesn't know as much about audio as many others here, and yes, he thinks he knows more than he does, but show me a 13 year old that doesn't? There's been far too many people here casting the first stone and displaying an immaturity of their own, for which they do not have the age of 13 as an excuse.

Go to Home Depot. Buy a cheap box fan. Return to the house.

Remove the housing form the fan. Rivet metal spatulas to each blade.

Place fan side ways on a stand, parallel to the floor, at waist height, spatulas perpendicular to the flood.

Turn on fan. Remove pants. Slowly ease my crotch into the path of the spinning metal spatulas.

Allow the spatulas to slap me about the crotch until this thread is locked.

Ya know how when there's a dinner party...and after dinner the adults all gather in the living room or out on the porch to talk...and then the kids come around, and it's funny for a while and they talk and ask a lot of silly kid questions and act out a little and show off, and everyone laughs a bit and it's actually cute for a while? And then it gets to be a little too much...the kids are dominating the moment and the rest of the gathering isn't really laughing any more so much as they're smiling uncomfortably and pretending not to be annoyed, and inside they're starting to wish the kids would just go play in their rooms or shuffle off to bed now so they can actually enjoy a nice talk for the rest of the evening.

It's like that.

Or you're running a website about headphones. Over the first few years, its been a struggle financially, but you've kept it afloat. You have a vision and you believe this can work. You garner a few key sponsors and you draw nearer & nearer to some kind of break even point. Recently, Sennheiser has joined your stable of advertisers...a major coup for your financial cause, a real feather in your cap. Even more lucrative deals start to appear in your mind like a mirage on the horizon...a light at the end of the red ink tunnel. You don't even realize it now, but some prospective advertising clients are perusing your site even now, getting a feel for what kind of place this is...

It's like that too.

jagpostwire, if you dont know how you ended up in this position creating havoc and such then you are as in denial as ive ever seen of anyone in my life. after ALL OF THE CONSTANT CRITICISM you have taken i would think that you no matter how old you are (which seems to be the point that your defenders keep bringing up) you would think it would sink in for God's sake. however you keep apologizing then you continue to do the very things you apologize for, its amazing. i feel like im in a time warp. i read an apology and then i see the same thing over and over and over and over and over and over and over....... the and over's could go on as long as your post count btw. please, for the love of God, stop already. this forum is cluttered enough with polls and such already, however i dont read those but i still see them cluttering up this page constantly. if the mods cant see this, which apparently they havent, i know how overloaded they are...... i just hope they can see fit to leave my post for what it is, not a personal attack but just a little nudge to make you understand how much this really has impacted this forum. again, i may state the obvious and again, maybe im the only one who sees it as this simple, but as usual ymmv, imo, ime, lol, rofl, lollers, and all that cool internet crap........

I usually stay out of the member's lounge because I have nothing to contribute, but here goes.

Jagwire - There's a thing called signal to noise ratio; you're raising the noise floor. Stop it. Honestly though, stop posting for a few days, head-fi isn't going anywhere, and neither are the posts. It'll do you ALOT of good if you just chill out and listen to the music instead of typing.
You're young, but that's no excuse, I left head-fi once because I realized I was being inane, and made no significant contribution. Do similarly, leave for a while, get to know your music and tact and come back. We'll appreciate you, and you'll appreciate the site a whole lot more.

And seriously, the rest of you ranting at Jag, you're not 17, this thread's turned into "slam the 13 year old for raising the S/R". You're adults, not 17 year old kid like me; either make a positive contribution, or stop. I hope you can act like civilized men on the intarwebs.
