Curious... can the cables unplug from the earcups? Looks like a plug terminal like an HD580.

????

Gave it a tug and nothing happened. Don't think it's detachable. Not going to test out that lifetime warranty just yet...

Alright, you suckered me in too. Got to admit it was the photo that did it, they actually look pretty good in an oldschool way. That headband! Alright, kids: only ten left on ebay.

Just don't be put off by the crummiest packaging you'll find on a headphone that once had a '$250' sticker on it. Makes the Grado Pizza Box (tm) seem expensive.

One less A250 to go around, thank you very much.

This could be a bargain the likes of which even God has never seen. Wait, that's the KSC-75... Anyway, I'll be comparing these with the HD600 and HD650 when they get here.

Nice. I'm comparing them with the HD650 and K340 (velour pads) at the moment with '06 Max Modules in my amp, and I have to say they all have different qualities. Neither the K340's nor the 250's are well burned in though, so they'll both get a good run through the night.

Heck, just got 48 bux poorer, cursssseee you hi-fi!!!!!

Please someone tell me how it compares to the HD580.

Btw, how's the soundstage? I have never imagined the sound signature of Koss, lol

These seems very nice, but one big turnoff for me - leatherette padding.

I went ahead and ordered a pair fo these myself. Figured since I don't have any cans other than my father's old Senns which I need to get repaired. And for the price and personal reviews I've seen so far, doesn't seem to be a bad deal at all. I'm still breaking in my Westone UM1s and I run out and buy these...

None of the above. I'm still trying to get a handle on the sound, and I don't think I know it well enough to categorise in any way other than to say that it is very good, and quite accurate. It has plenty of bass slam and extension when required. It is a slightly leaner presentation than the Senn. house sound - the midrange might be a bit more coloured, with some small recessions and peaks going on, but no huge deviations from flat - we aren't talking about a Grado here . It doesn't seem to have that mid bass accentuation that gives the senn. sound a lot of the acoustical and soundstage presence that it enjoys - some think that's a good thing, others don't.

When you say the bass has SLAM, do you mean it in a good and clean way or just overmassive muddled form of THUMP? Judging from your assessment I believe that the bass is not as encroaching as the HD580? Going from HD580 to K340 has spoiled me a lot of good clean bass I guess I just want to find a good open headphone to fill the niche between the K340 and the HD580.
