None of the above. I'm still trying to get a handle on the sound, and I don't think I know it well enough to categorise in any way other than to say that it is very good, and quite accurate. It has plenty of bass slam and extension when required. It is a slightly leaner presentation than the Senn. house sound - the midrange might be a bit more coloured, with some small recessions and peaks going on, but no huge deviations from flat - we aren't talking about a Grado here

. It doesn't seem to have that mid bass accentuation that gives the senn. sound a lot of the acoustical and soundstage presence that it enjoys - some think that's a good thing, others don't.
