My wife's voice is the most beautiful I have heard.

She has an excellent voice that is rich and lush when she sings. Even when I am totally pi$$ed at her, her singing will make me stop, listen, and relax. Of course, I have to flee the area so that she doesn't know her voice has that effect on me...

Heh...were you bored?

I want to add Jewel, she has a great sultry upper-register voice I just can't get enough of.

And Zero 7's Sia Furler, who's completely sultry on another level, kinda similar to Norah Jones in a way.

Hey! Those look familiar!

This long list was nice, Mike. But now I want you to say all of them out loud 10 times while holding your tongue. Bet you can't do it! C'mon, man... I dare you to try!

No, seriously. Thanks for taking the time. Imagine how many CD's that would add to your collection if you tried each name on the list? Then you have to factor into the equation that you would get hooked on a bunch of them and keep ordering more CD's! Weren't you the guy who couldn't understand why anyone would "need" more than 150 recordings in their collection? Hmmmph! I guess it all depends on how we define "need"...

I can hardly stand any female singers. I really have no idea why, but I have never really liked them in general. Having said that, the ones I can think of that I actually do like are:

Norah Jones

........ well that's all I can think of ATM.....

No-one has mentioned Katie Melua yet? I especially love that cover of The Cure's Just Like Heaven that she does.

Also the lead singer from Frente.

Now maybe the orginal thread author can edit the first post and point toward these later summaries. Or edit that post to included some of these summary information. Thanks for those that took the time to do this.

Hey, Wayne, that's a real "tongue-in-cheek" idea. Lets first see you demo it at the 6/10 meet.

Yup, I now see why many have huge CD collections, although I don't intend to follow. I'll do most of my sampling at B&N, where Holly and I spend lots and lots of hours. Maybe some CDs, that I can sample, are also available from our library system, or from a national inter-library system. Since there's no rush, I'll do it, a little at a time, over many months.
