Most beautiful female voice? - Page 6

1: Anneke van Giersbergen (the Gathering)
10: Floor Jansen (After forever)
11: Marcella Bovio (Stream of Passion / Elfonia)
12: Shirley Manson (Garbage)
13: Cristina Scabbia (Lacuna Coil)
14: Rosan van der Aa (Orphanage)

This was a no-brainer, anyone who hasn't heard Anneke before: go and do! even if you don't like the music (try 'strange machines' and 'waking hour' to get 2 extremes), trust me, you won't be disapointed!

As do I, although from my avatar you can see that I'm particularly enamoured with one of them.

I listen to her music only occasionally, but I was blown away by Martina McBride when I heard her live.

Alison Kraus has the perfect voice for bluegrass/country.
I very much love the deeper, seductive vocies of Billie Holiday and Norah Jones.
Jane Monheit b/c she is a fellow New Yorker, extremely technically proficient and has a piercing, crystal clear voice that suits standards perfectly.
Rosa Pasos b/c I love hearing Portuguese in music and her voice is buttery smooth.
Lyn Collins, b/c she could sing funk like no other lady.
Don't really have a favorite classical diva.

Charlotte Church: Voice of an Angel

My vote goes to Charlotte Church, especially in her early years.

I like Ruth Moody, Nicky Mehta and Annabelle Chvostek collectively known as the Wailin' Jennys. Better known in Canada or to fans of Prairie Home Companion.

To round out 5, I'll add Alison Krauss and Nanci Griffith.

Is anyone going to talk the time and do a summary of votes and voices?
