Josefin Nilsson. Here in the very kitsch group Ainbusk Singers. A natural, with a great deal of talent and soul without much schooling. I cannot help liking her voice. A kind of a Swedish Eva Cassidy, but with more depth IMO.

Niña Pastori is one of my favorite female vocalists. And I also enjoy Ornella Vanoni's voice. I don't know if they are qualified to be the most beautiful female voices. Hopefully am not the only one in the forum who thinks they are great.

Most beautiful...

Tops on my all-time list, I am in complete agreement with Jahn - Ella. Always Ella. The best that's ever been. I fall in love every time I listen to her.

Someone not oft-mentioned that I really like is June Christy, especially from her Stan Getz era.

Another one of my contemporary favs, is Julia Fordham.

Women I love to listen too.

Beth Gibbons
Peggy Lee from the 40s
Margo Timmins - The Trinity Sessions are absolutely beautifull

And there is always a special place in my heart from the "sounds like it hurts" women.

Bonnie Tyler and Kim Carnes

Man, you must really love Ella! You stooped so low as to agree with Jahn?

Actually, I always put Ella right behind Sarah Vaughan, so she really should be my #2 lady. But Ella didn't make my list because she and Sassy came from the same era so I sort of think of them as substitutes. Each of the ladies on my list represents something totally different to me.

Ella Fitzgerald
Alison Krauss

I can't think of anyone else that I regard as close to those two.
