Alright, people worship this band. I tell people that I do not find Radiohead to be all that good, and they act like I commited a mortal sin. The truth is, I can't stand to listen to O.K. Computer for more than 5 minutes. It makes me want to go to sleep. Am I the only one who finds Radiohead incredibly boring?

-- edit (just wanted to make this clear) --
This thread was intended to be a "bash Radiohead" thread. I just wanted to hear different opinions.

no no, do not feel like an ass at all! the more people we can convince that this radiohead band is pure trash the better the chance is that they will just go away. their music sucks, not one of them can play an instrument to save his or her life, i dont know, one or more of them may be trannys.... but lets keep this trend going, i for one like it. the bends in particular, pure trash/tripe/crap etc etc etc.
radiohead need to just go away, please, pretty please!

Every generation has one: their own private band that takes on a cult-like following, e.g., The Greatful Dead; Phish; Radiohead. On the lighter side, you have Jimmy Buffet (Parrotheads).
I personally never got caught up in any of them, but I understand how and why people do: it's fun.

WOW... with so many people hating, and violenting hating a band....hmmmm
I think you have way to much time on your hands....
If everyone listened to your music...this would be a boring world indeed.
and just for example...
I REALLY dislike Phish... and you know what... I DON'T LISTEN TO THEM.
thats how I get by... I don't bash fish...why... becasue obviously someone must like them.... just not me...
Now I would really understand your point more clearly if they were played incestently on the radio or MTV... oh I don't know... like Bo Bice...but...they aren't, they create "music" that is not very radio friendly... so its not like you have to escape from it.
Let the flaming commence.

I would put Buffet ahead of Radiohead, GD or Phish for that reason.

Personally, Radiohead is my favorite band of the last 20 years! Most of my friends come into the house and say, "what the ****** id that s**t?" I then lend them a couple of albums and within a little while they are buying the whole collection! Some still hate it but for most it grows on them.
THe reason why I listen to them? One, they are some of the best sounding recordings I have. Two, if people listened to the lyrics, they might learn something other than she is cute, life sucks crap that most pop portrays. Three, they still record albums, not singles placed irratically on a disc. Four, they do not seem to bend like most bands. I think their moral servitude should be a lesson to all, especially those in a position of influence.
That said, it is not ambient, social music. It requires intense listening and fosters hermit like social activity. This is mainly because if you listen and learn, your friends might not be as appealing to you anymore. Their petty BS, ignorance, and weakness may make you sick to your stomach. Hats of to bands like Radiohead, Beastie Boys, and LOL! even the Dixie Chicks who have the balls to voice opinions that are generally sales inhibitors not crowd pleasers.
People say that they are depressing and almost suicidal to listen to. I say I will kill myself if I hear another teen band singing about their vast experiences and wisdom in love and life when they don't know a damned thing about anything! If Radiohead depresses you, it is time for a change, and I do not mean the music. I mean in your life, or your lack of action. Just my two cents.
Think of Pink Floyd or even Genesis(not Phil's either, P. Gabriel's). When they were shaking the foundation of rock, they were producing COMPLETE albums that had a song or two that the masses accepted and cherished. The rest seemed to most to be abtract and meaningless. These are the people that could not understand the music or the lyrics due to their lack of an open mind and the patience to listen.

It is a shame, this is what Radiohead mocks in a lot of their music. The streamlining of human individuallity. Why don't we name everyone Bob or Bobby, wear the same clothes and drive the same car and believe in the same cause. Oh wait, sounds like communism. Ok, why not repress or control their music, style, or belief? Oh yeah, sounds like fascism. I have an idea, you have your opinion, Radiohead has theirs, and I have mine, lets keep it that way! Either that or the world will become one big USA(or Wallmart, same thing). And if the world becomes one big USA, what is the benefit. Travel the world and see, you will find globalization(Americanization) is destroying the fabric of life and humanity. The result, read 1984, Orwell is only a few years off!
