I'd really like to know a little bit more about these cables. There is very little information on the web about them. Except for a couple mini-reviews, a comment on audio asylum that gede is 98% as good as varial, and markl's unfortunately negative description of the bok as "plasticy" Anyone have experience with these cables? Are they really that bad or really that good lol? I am especially interested in reaction with tubes as i will be using them with a tubed source anda tubed amp.

I can't comment on the Gede, but I used to own the Zu Oxyfuel interconnects. Soundwise they are fine (not a huge believer in cables), but the reason I sold them was due to the stiffness of the cable. I'm not sure if the Gede's are as stiff, but keep this in mind if your components are close together or right up against a wall. Build quality was excellent however, and of course the aestetics are top notch in my opinion (especially the Gede!).

I have Gede II for two months. In my opinion, it is extremely good value, and one of the best in this price range. I hook it up to my Marantz DV7600 and Shellbrook Ascent for SCAD listening. I am no audition professional but to my ears it is a well balance IC through out the spectrum, and very little coloration. It is slightly (just little) lagging my Synergistic Research Alpha Sterling Active X2 in terms of background quietness, but cost significantly less.

The Gede II is significant better than the Pivot series which is very popular in the head-fi world.

I also have Bok and Mother II, which I tried on my various headphone amps. In my opinion Bok is very good value and the difference from Mother II is minimal. Yes, externally Bok is not as attractive but it is also solidly built. It share the same aluminum milled Zu male plugs and IEC plugs as Mother II, and is good enough for most except those extremely power hungry 500W+ power amps.

Just my humble opinion based on personal experience.

For those who don't know already, Zu lists selected items on eBay at significantly lower prices than what the charge on their webpage. I got a $110 Birth PC for only $45. I'm pretty happy with it in my system. The soundstage seems to have improved.

As interconnect I would say the Gede II is quite flexible (compared to most high-end copper based alternatives). Each channel around 5 - 5.5 mm diameter. But as headphone cables I would think it is a bit too stiff.

The Zu Mobius Headphone cable for HD650 is also the same size and similar flexibility (but for 2 channels). While it sounds great it is still a bit stiff for me.

I find the Gede to be on the stiff side, as is the mobius. My opinion I guess, I have a short space for the back of my system (its in a book shelf). I was using the Gede between a DAC and the Raptor. I have since replaced it with a Lavry and a Cardas Twinconnect XLR-RCA pair of ICs.

The Gede is a great cable, and is very smooth. I will be using them somewhere down the line.

Despite the stiffness of the Mobius, the reviews here speak for themselves. I think any aftermarket cable, with a couple of wrapping layers will be stiff. I have read of too many breakage problems with some of the other cables.

I use the Gede in my system, and it is a great sounding and looking cable. It is a stiff cable, but its not as bad as it sounds. I recommend going the eBay route, as thats where I purchased mine from. Good luck!
