Will the ipod remote work when using lineout?

I'm wondering if this will be possible, so I wouldn't need to fiddle in my bag and find my ipod connected to an amp via lineout everytime to change a song.

not with the 5g as the remote is at the bottom(same as lineout) but for 4g and earlier that is possible...

I actually wondered that myself one day when I had my mini on randomize playing through my Turbodock II. I grabbed my remote and yes, it does work even though I'm using the line-out signal.
