AKG K501 ... wow ... wow ... wow - Page 4

I love my pair for classical music. The just seem to have a very natural and very organic decay that fits that style well. Especially with tympani and bass drum it just sounds to real.

More bassy than the 555, with the 770 being rather extremely bassy.

You know I actually agree with this now after listening to them for many months. Originally I thought they couldn't hold their own against my HF-1 with blues/rock. I feel that is less true today. Either they broke in more or my ears have grown to them. I still say the HF-1 is a better rocker/blues can, but the K601's definately can pull it off. Now I personally think the K601's strong spot is jazz though, I have grown to love the way they do jazz more and more, since purchase.

BTW: The K601's are one of the most comfy can's ever. I sometimes think the clamping is bad, but if I ever come from my HF-1 (w/Flats), the HD-555, my Kosby's and even my KSC-35's...the K601's feel like a velour couch to the ears.
