IC: Krell KAV-500i 110volt - greatest bass for K1000! - Page 2

I don't have the P300 Power Plant for sale anymore, I need it for my Benchmark DAC1.

I'm still selling the Krell, it's still beside my bed ready to ship!

I'm too poor to pay $6 for Audiogon ad every month, it's like throwing money in toilet... I need cash so I can buy more ERS Paper! If I sell the Krell, I'm buying a whole roll of it!

I got response and it's $5500 for a roll of ERS Paper, I don't have enough even if I sell the Krell.
Maybe I should keep the Krell instead of sell it almost for free, it's worth much more than I'm selling it for even when I'm not using it. I'm still impressed of the crazy bass even though I haven't listened to it for almost a year!

The rings around the pillars are little uneven but it's the pressure of the springs that matters. There needs to be equal pressure on all springs, and it needs to be balanced with different amount of springs depending on how the weight is distributed on the top. It's not that important anyway.

In that picture I used 6 springs total. You can use up to 3 springs per pillar.

Just to let everyone know, I don't have enough money to ship the Krell out until after 11 days. I need all the cash for Magix and ERS Paper!

Bass is strong

It is weird that I'm still daydreaming about the bass of the Krell. Bass is so strong that after a year I still hear it...

I haven't opened up the Krell. I put it in a box before I started mutilating all my other gear.

You can convert 220volts into 110volts when using a step-down transformer, it's the cheapest way.

But the best way is to use a P300 Power Plant, but since the P300 can only handle 300 watts you can't use big speakers with the Krell. But K1000 earspeakers works great.

I have an extra P300 Power Plant (modded to extreme) and an extra pair of K1000. If you buy them all, you can get discount.


My modded P300 doesn't look pretty though. You could temporarily get a step-down transformer now and later get a P300 from Audiogon. But the shipping cost from USA is many hundred and with import taxes it's double the price.

I have a 50cm Nordost Valhalla power cord soldered to the input of P300 Power Plant, 20cm of the Valhalla comes out from the rear and it's long enough to reach the wall outlet if there are isolation feet under the P300.

I also have Solid-tech Feet of Silence you could get for a discount.

It sounds like bass on steroids! Huge bass with huge speed.

You won't have a problem with the signature because when using the Multiwave settings of the Power Plant you can choose the sound signature. MWave1 makes it sound brighter, and MWave4 makes it sound darker with more bass. They are the opposites. You can also use the TubeWave setting which makes it sound smooth like tubes. MWave2 is a smoother version of MWave1. But the best setting is MWave4, it makes the bass crazy fast.

Krell gives lot of bass which is a great match for K1000. xStream Statement power cord also makes everything heavier. MWave4 and Feet of Silence make the bass faster and heavier. Feet of Silence also gives more transparency, detail, solidness, blackness and quietness.
