Budget (under $30) headphone shootout! - Page 2

It's hard to beat the Koss...

Toss up between the KSC75 and Sennheiser EH150. The KSC75 more fun, the EH150 is much more comfortable, and is easily usable for a greater amount of time...... hmmm.

I voted other because I didn't really like the KSC-75 when I tried them (am I the only one? perhaps it was because I was rudely interrupted into listening to them while I was going through HF-1 madness). I'd say save the 30 USD and save for something like an MS-1. More satisfying. But for a cheap pair of cans for running, then I guess they're fine.

What about the KSC35

IMHO the best < $30 is KOSS KSC-35 I believe it can be bought for $29...

Yeah, but only from eBay sources. It's officially a discontinued product.

I'm voting for the Creative ep-630. Does it sound as good as a KSC-75? Not quite, but it's a passable, comfortable IEM available for way under $30, and it doesn't sound bad at all. Plus I didn't want to be like everyone else and say KSC-75.

disclosure: without realizing it, I wrote this on a public terminal while wearing the kosses, with the creatives sitting right in front of me. BUT, 95 percent of the time, other people would be sitting here too, and I couldn't use these damn KSC-75 at all. Nor could I fit them up my nostrils.

Why no ksc35 in the poll? It's available again. I prefer it to the ksc75.

I think that everyone will generally agree on the KCS-75's.. no reason to be second to any of this price..

I've tried both the xd models on that list. The xd-100 was so bad that I returned it promptly; the xd-200 was somewhat better but still inferior to the v-300. My vote goes to the ksc75s.

note to everyone.. the KSC75 is also the CHEAPEST on this list.

Wow, KOSS landslide so far.

I knew they are well liked here at Head-Fi, but didn't know they had that much love. I suppose this poll is a testament as to how amazing these bad boys really are.

I didn't realize that KOSS KSC-35s were available still. I haven't heard the KSC-35s before, perhaps I will try to track down a pair for giggles. Oh well just select the 'Other' option in the poll and give them props in your post.

Thanks everyone for your participation, this has been quite an eye opener for me. It is a fun break for me to go Lo-Fi every now and then.

You have a good point there. One can never underestimate the importance of being able to cram a pair of headphones up ones nose. Chicks dig it.
