look at post 12 it shows the sennheisers with a goldplated 90 degree plug, did my friend over at iaudiophile.net get hosed?

no one knows? has sennheiser ever released headphones with a gold plug?

Well a quick search on the net for that same headphone and the pictures that come back all have silver/metal coloured jacks - basically not gold. I guess that doesn't mean that they are fake though ...

Uhmmm... Yeah, my Hd280pros have a gold minijack and gold minijack to jack adapter. Both stock.

oh yes- very fake. the packaging is completely different. if i'm not mistaken even OEM stuff is shipped in a poly bag with no company markings present. my cx came in a retail package even tho i bought them online

i'd just ask the seller if they will honor senns 2 YEAR warranty. all manufacturers tend to stand by their warranty...knockoffs don't

saw some fake e4's recently too on a trip to ny but they were really cheap and it was obvious. the e4's have a definite, recognizable quality to them that makes fakes EASY to spot. ''

simply solution- buy from a dealer (not a drug dealer tho) cuz their rep is on th eline if they sell crummy product
