The expertise I have is personal hands on experience with the Wii.

You guys can continue to trust other people's opinions all you want, but decide for yourself after the system is available for you to play for yourself. I'm through with arguing with how so and so websites say it's great, so like headphones experience it for yourself and then form a real opinion.

If the price is $200 or less, I'll most definitely get one (well, I still have to get one for business reasons.), but regardless of how fun or not the Wii-mote is, it will still be second tier to the superior graphics of the XBox 360 that I currently have.

As revolutionary/gimmicky (take your pick) as the Wii may be, the graphics will certainly not be. Unless you are legally blind, you can't argue that one. The Wii graphics just aren't on par with the 360 and the PS3.

But I think the Wii will have a nice niche being a low end alternative to the more expensive 360 and PS3. But that's only if Nintendo can price the Wii at $200 or less. WIth games costing less than $40, preferrably closer to $30. If their games cost more than $50 or $60, Nintendo is going to be in trouble. Their nostalgic heavy hitters like Mario/Zelda/Metroid will be the only top sellers.

Nintendo Fanboy? WTF? I assume you're a fanboy of the XBOX 360.

Just cause they don't have better graphics doesn't mean you have to bash everything. And the Wii isn't even fully developed so what would you know? It's called a DEMO game, where there is nothing set; only to represent what the games WILL BE like, not what it IS. Maybe cause the graphics are only 3 or 4 times as better as GCN that it's at least twice as cheap as the XBOX 360 and the PS3. And obviously, you're not much of a old-school gamer. Old-school gamers don't care much about graphics; the gameplay is much more important.

It's like the argument against DS and PSP. PSP may have better graphics, but which one is doing much better in the market? Which one has the better innovation? Which one proved wrong on many peoples' biased arguments about sucking a lot? Which one is attracting a new generation of gamers? The DS.

Hey man, Ed has actually played it, so he can say whatever he wants. As for gameplay, do you even know what the gameplay is like with the Wii? This is all just speculation except for people who have played it, so why are you talking like you've played it. The price is also not released, so you can ASSUME it will be half as much as said consoles, but it's not fact YET.

I'm also wondering if it alienates the developers to make a less powerful system than it's competitors and not support HD? Anyone have any input on this?

How do you know he played it? He may just be saying that.
But nevertheless if he played (probably did) or not, majority of the other reviews state it's the opposite of what Ed is saying.

They don't have a HD because they don't want the Wii to be as huge as the XBOX 360. They have the SD mem-card slot and 2 USB jacks, which you can transfer data on to your computer.

Also, Ed might've not enjoyed the controls of MP3 due to this:

"The trick to good control in the E3 demo of Corruption is to enable “Expert" sensitivity in the pause menu. This setting allows you to perform all the aiming and turning with small, precise wrist movements, instead of larger movements of your entire arm which are required at the default sensitivity. Because you aren’t moving the remote nearly as much, it won’t drift outside of the sensor bar’s range, so you avoid the weird view-freeze bug and subsequent auto-calibration fix mentioned in my first set of impressions. It’s also just easier and more comfortable to play the game with smaller movements, and you can turn faster to keep up with quick flying enemies."

I don't think the Wii is a low end alternative to anything , still I didn't get the bose metaphora , really - i suppose we agree that the wii is far less hyped then xbox360 and ps3 , and all that's discussed is related to the lack of software that's able to show the Nintendo console aim and virtues . Nintendo has never been the bose of console world , but it's been the most pure fun oriented brand up to now .
To not have the latest graphics available it's a loss in videogame industry of 2006(7) , this is sure thing but still we have to see the graphics that's capable ( am I wrong ? ) , and btw the xbox360 never impressed/s me graphically ( it is an upgraded xbox and not a "new" console really ) .
RE4 on Gcn was one of the best looking for console of last year , and probably ever .
I suppose the wii will have much more of the power that's available on a gcn , and suppose that if the launch goes well , developers will get VERY interested in writing games for the Wii and in some way more interested then to write things for xbox360 (? still miss this console meanings , other then cash for microsoft ) and for ps3.

Maybe it is soon , and it's better that skeptics wait a bit more before expressing so negatively on the fate and the reliability of the next gen Nintendo console .

and .. there's fanboysm on X console and fanboysn on Y console , sure thing . And there's also some people who can't simply have fun for things that other people find extreme joy in ( think sennheiser vs grado , or rs-1 vs hp-2 ) . I'm not a Nintendo fanboy , I must admit though that leaving for a while with ps-2 and gcn I choosed to get me a gcn , and I'm not hardcore gamer , but sincerely the 10 games I've tried with ps-2 and with gcn made me choose on the fun and the beauty I've found in some Nintendo enterteining manners and productions

Why don't you just grow some and call him out? You obviously think he's lying. I'm sure he has better things to do though.

It's good that most reviews are good, I hope nintendo wins with the Wii, it would be nice if it all worked well together and came out as a fun console. I would love to have another fun console that brought back some of the good times I haven't had since the SNES. Fun takes a backseat with me though. I'm all about games like GRAW. But like I've said before, I would buy it if it has games my wife would enjoy since she doesn't like 360.

Anyway, let the man have his opinion, there's nothing wrong with having an opinion, ESPECIALLY if he's actually played it. Just wait until you actually play it to call him a liar.

in fact , my thoughts ..
let's just be bit more possibilists , we still have seen lil if nothing of the wii imo , and the fun about a game is not always visuals and music related , and I hope the wii have ( and hides ) somes in those compartments too .
I'm a wii believer and also want to believe on his fortune .
I'll likely get the ps3 , and I definitely hope that N push things fast and well ( software ) in order to get me getting the wii on the very release moment .

Ed, from what I'm reading you seem to want it to just be like every other console. When you were talking about Metroid alot of what you said gave me the impression that you're mad because you want it to strictly adhere to the current conventions of every other FPS, which is clearly not the point. If I wanted that, I'd play my 360. But there will be times when I don't, and that's why I'm probably going to buy a Wii as well.

I'm not accusing your impressions of being incorrect or anything like that though. The people here claiming you have some vendetta are nuts.
