$600 IS a lot of money for a game system, even to us crazy audiophiles.

Personally, because of the Blu-Ray deal, I think the PS3 will be one of those slow-to-catch-on products. Slower start, but I'm sure it'll pick up. Hey, a lot of people justified picking up the PS2 at the start because it had a DVD player...

Wow, do you have to word everything in rude way? Anyways, when I say a lot, I mean if you were to ask avg joe gamer/flick dude if they *truly* wants blu-ray atm (and pay a premium for it) . . I bet they'd say no more than yes. (and you know what I meant when I said that, but you just wanted to be an arse) Sure, it ain't statistics, but whatever, sue me. And will most regular consumers even notice the difference b/w Dvd, HDdvd, and blu-ray? Also, independent surveys aren't exactly the most reliable things in the world hehe.

EDIT: Come to think of it, you post didn't really have much to do with mine at all, did it? Hmm . . .

Go back and re-read your reply to me kettle. Avg joe gamer/flick dude were the people interviewed in the survey.

HD-DVD has nothing to do with Xbox/Microsoft. Make some time to go by avsforum.

Hmm . . . you got me on the Hddvd part (I misread). Still, perhaps you should read your own posts, and don't call me a kettle, whatever that refers too. Oh yes, you missed my edits. And just cause you do go the avsforums, doesn't mean you have to be such an arse to those of us who don't. Actually, the next-gen format war has a surprisingly large amount to do with the Sony/MS battle, but I'll let you read up on that.

Bringing it back to the Wii, I can't wait for the system but one little thing bugs me. I understand that this is the internet and everyone can act like 12 year olds if they really want to, but why must we? I thought that the guys here would be able to refrain from Wii jokes, which in all honesty were unfunny back when I was in grade school, and are much less now. The amount of stellar, blazing wit that it takes to come up with these little rays of sunshine could be used elsewhere. Any chance you could go away and let the adults talk about video games?

The kettle part clearly refers to your replies being able to be interpreted as "rude" just as much as my own. I'm not an arse. My replies may sound rude to you because I'm a blunt truth speaker; sugar coating is a waste of time. I would rather inform myself of a particular subject instead of making speculative blanket statements in a manner that makes them sound as though they are fact.

It has everything to do with paying a premium for blu-ray but perhaps you just don't understand the concept because you're one of the "avg joe sixpack gamers" that you referred to earlier. I showed you a survey that clearly shows that most gamers are concerned with HD. That is the now and the future and that is what blu-ray is after all, assuming you don't know. It is 1080p DVD.

Why you miss the caveman, otherwise known is Rick, is beyond me? If you're in to old, tired ways and ridiculous ignorance then I can understand; however, it doesn't make much sense to me. He was the most insulting and rude person I've ever encountered at head-fi.

No, you can be truthful and direct without being a elitist arse. I was only rude to you cuz you were to me. And yeah, I been around, that is how you seem to talk to everyone. How do I get the super secret access to the "everyone hates F1GTR" private forum? I can't see you as having those privileges considering you're not a contributor. Yeah sorry, I do look down on people that type in such a way to imply that they are hardly wrong (directed at anyone this implies to but especially Rick).

The things I said to him were the absolute truth, not sugar coated of course. Right and wrong is another area entirely but the truth is all there is. Too bad we can't dig that thread back up to confirm this.

Sure! In its essence, the hollywood studios are being very cautious about what format to support, and will continue to be until they start to see the numbers play out. If Sony pushes 3 million units before Christmas and the 360 manages to get some HD DVD add-ons, those increase the install base. In the previous example, much more in Sonys favour. haha, what does me not being a contributor have to do with anything? Once again, trying to show you "superiority" for no other reason than to make yourself feel good. Guess us non-contributors don't matter, just cuz we don't give the bling. Can't defend yourself from my "lies" so you add things that have no relevance? Man, you really are elitist who's head his so far his rear that he denies everything people say about him. You actually admit to and seem proud of how you act, and that just lets me know that things I/rick/whoever said was true. (sadly, no facts ahh)

EDIT: This isn't just my relationship with rick talking (in fact, we've had more bad arguments b/w one another than he's had with you). Maybe someone should start an (anonymous) poll on who dislikes you, cuz you only want facts right?

Thank you very much.

I wasn't aware, primarily because I don't care for MS, that they are making plans to offer an additional add-on external HD-DVD player for the 360. Sounds to me like a move on their part to give a big "F U" in the direction of Sony. This battle should get very interesting.
