Both Sides of the Gun

I'm currently listening to "Both Sides of the Gun" by Ben Harper.

I've also been listening to "(ONe)" by the Panic Channel.

How's that Asha album?

Tala Matrix is a great album, I was at Stern Grove when they made their live album as well. Bill Laswell's a strange dude. Zak was mellow and cool as usual and actually laughed at Bill much of the time.

Anyway, what have I been listening to...

Trashcan Sinatras - All their albums, just awesome
David Gilmour - David Gilmour Japanese Mini LP First Solo Album
PFM - Chocolate Kings Japanese Mini LP
Ryan Adams - Heartbreaker SACD Hybrid
XTC - The Big Express

.. and on and on ..

They both have that jangly New Zealand perfect pop -thing going on. Both the Clean (the Kilgour brothers old band) and Tall Dwarfs were on the Flying Nun label and sorta' defined that N.Z. surfy psychedelic pop sound. I'd definently check them out, one of my faves though they're pretty lo-fi...mostly recorded on 4-track, one dude on the South Island and one on the North and they'd each record a track, send it on, and then add onto it until they built an album. Weeville, Fork Songs, Hello Cruel World, all good ones...

Fantasie in F minor for Four Hands, D940 by Schubert

James Levine, Evgeny Kissin

The Carnegie Hall Concert

This is an amazing album. I encourage all you pianists or piano lovers to go and buy this album. Incredible playing by two of the world's top pianists. Wonderful acoustics and definitely an audiophile recording. The record captures the dynamics of two Steinways in a grand concert hall with great accuracy.
