Athena B2.2 for $299 CDN -- good bang for the buck?

I see this deal at future shop in Canada, and I'm just wondering for those that have heard it, is that good bang for the buck? I'm quite aware that there may be better deals by getting them from the US, but there may also be a customs fee involved.

I think you'd be better off buying the discontinued C-3 for about the same price (since you are in Ottawa, you can probably get it for around $300 with local pickup). This used to sell for $650 CAD a couple of years ago.

The Energy C-3 is a higher end speaker than the Athenas (The Energy has better cabinet bracing, better specs, chambered tweeter, heavier weight). Athena and Energy are owned by the same parent company but Energy is their higher end line.

Agreed, Athena speakers are not that great imo. Especially not worth importing from the US. You can get better speakers from Canadian companies like Energy or Paradigm in the same price bracket.
