I would be interested in the same: complete instructions from beginning to end on how this can be done and what i would need.

i found some info HERE

But having never done this i'm a bit scared to just dive in. Is it hard?

Alternatively, can this be done at a radio shack (the source CC in Canada) inexpensively?

Maybe follow those directions and clip of as much as you want then re-solder and reassemble.

Or cut off the 1/8" plug, cut and replace with new plug.

Now all we have to do is to have Drew, Larry, Zach and others figure out a cable up grade so we can all go over the top with these babies!
