New Sennheiser HD-700!!!! - Page 20

Hopefully they'll sounds amazing...

Well, I did not like the HD800, especially its treble, but I really like the HD650. So I hope this will be a slightly more open and detailed version of the HD650, as opposed to a slightly downgraded HD800.

That's not how economics work. The 600/650 are the highest Sennheiser I'd consider purchasing. Without the 600, their appeal to people who want a neutral headphone in the mid-fi price range will diminish.

ill buy a hd 600 before its discontinued. out of all my headphones, i love the hd 650 and its amazing, i'm sure the hd 600 is just as good and i want one even if the hd 700 will be better or whatever. hd 600/650 combo ftw

donno i just don't like the design

Rumor has it they'll be introducing new designs to replace the 6XX series, which is why the 600s are being phased out.

hence the 700 :D we should see an HD750 soon as well if things go well XD

ohh btw all of the Sennheiser products released this year all fixed the "Sennheiser veil" to some extent so i think that's what the HD700 are gonna do

i'm sure  most don't like the veil

Maybe people who liked laid back minus veil should try the KNS8400. HD800 is something else, but I'm not too happy with Sennheiser's other endeavors. Until they come up with a closed headphone that greatly surpasses the HD25-1, I've no interest in their products I'm afraid. What the HD700 will represent is interesting though.

Seconded

I only experienced the "veil" in the first place when the headphones were underamped.  Sure the 650's amount of treble is pretty low, but it didn't come across as muddled or hazy when I auditioned them...

hd 650 and wa6se with bitperfect output to my dac = no veil

If they're phasing out the 650, I'll have to buy that sooner than later.  I must admit I'm a fan of the design, and the challenge of getting them powered seems like fun.

they're not as hard to power as people think. however, they do need a decent amount to sound their best, especially in the bass region.
