the screw to connect the cord to the headphone on my dt250 was not in the box. does anyone know if the screw is usually included, or where i can get one?

The screw is usually included. However, the plug is so tight that the screw is not really needed. Further, the stock cord sucks (imho). Try this instead:

Hi gerG, I would love to get a straight cable for my DT250-80s. Although the link you provide shows a possible solution, there aren't enough details provided for me. Could you elaborate on exactly what cable you used, where you got it from and how much it costs, etc...

Thanks!

Oops, sorry about that. It is a stock HD600 cable. There have to be scads of them around. It is a completely reversible plug-in swap on the headphone side. Slight modification of the cable was necessary.

It seems like a fairly standard screw, although I don't know the dimensions... if you like I could try measuring it, or take a picture of it (assuming the one on the 250-80 is the same).

Very cool, thanks for the info. Off to the FS formus to try and find a cheap used HD600 cable!

thanks, that might help. just knowing the screw is supposed to come with makes me think i dropped it when tearing into the package. is the screw black? i'm going to do a search around my desk.

thanks gerg, but i actually like the coiled cable. when i was using them portably i had to keep reseting the cable plug, so for me it was not staying in place by friction.

UPDATE!
I FOUND IT!

thanks for your help everyone. just knowing there was one compelled me to do a more thourough search.

Ah, a happy ending. Now people can quit accusing you of having a screw loose

I don't mind the cable so much as that danged snaggy plug. Going to the Sen plugs made the cans feel a pound lighter (I exagerate) and I don't have to tip my head to clear my shoulder with the plug.

The screw is silver, and in mine came in it's own seperate little baggie...

sorry to dig this up

has any1 tried this? plugging the hd600 cable into the beyer dt250s? gerG states that he needed to do a slight modification of the cable. would a newbie like me be able to handle this task? i would ask gerG himself but it seems like he hasn't been on in a while. also, any details or tips/tricks on how to do the modification of the cable would be helpful. thanks

hello, sorry for resurrecting an old thread. i found a beyerdynamic dt250/80 in my house, with the cable torn in two. now, i have mogami wire as well and i'm hoping i can recable this headphones and bring it back to life

anybody knows about the pin assignment of the dt250 connector? they got this 7 pins detachable connector that i've never seen before.

thanks in advance :)

anyone?

I would check the Beyer site for pdf manuals--Beyer usually includes pretty detailed specs.

If you have a multimeter, you could also just run some current through to see which wires are TRS.

you can't. because the stereo plug does not exist anymore so there's no way i could track the trace using multimeter
