yeah i was thinking about selling some home gear in favor of a nice portable rig. Would a 5gipod w/lineout,RnB IC,good portable supraaurreal cans like the es-7, and a top portable amp like a hornet or xin rival? would it beat out say a microstack and hd595 combo overall?

I know people bash on Bose because of they're over priced and I agree. I believe these retail for about $150 or so and I paid $85 for these due to employee discount at where I work. With that...

I bought these headphones as an upgrade from my BD DT-770 Pro 80Ohm. The are better in all areas, except that the right can can't handle bass. As soon as there are low bass it just becomes a...

I just picked these up today so this is just an initial assessment. These are a great sounding headphone overall but the fact that they are also closed back and still have great soundstage at...

everything about these headphones is flawless. Everything is balanced, and perfect. Any of the reviews that didn't like them most likely have a fake pair, or, hate life. The only thing I could...

I paid 25 bucks for this phone, which makes it stupidly good value. Best Bang for the buck phone. Quite comfy so you can use it for quite a long time. Sounds is quite awesome, not 200$ awesome...

I would seriously doubt that the ES7 can beat out the HD595.

ok so what 'level' would you consider a 5g ipod, nice portable cans,ICs,amp against popular home gear like a500,pimetas etc. That home set up earlier was an example for illustration purposes only.

I would get a 4G iPod and have the iWine mod done. Then a high quality IC from one of the many well known suppliers here. Next a good amp like the SR-71 (I prefer it to the Hornet), a Xin SuperMacro III Version 6, or an AE-1. Finally a good IEM (if portability is truly what you are looking for) like the Ety ER-4S, Shure E5, UE10, etc.
Oh, and do not forget a good carry bag. Good luck.

yes but what would that rival? obviously not a orpheus and it would cream hd201s unamped out of a pc. So whats it amount to in terms of home systems.
