Seconded, and GAWD the freakin' overtuned "music" also almost blasted my eardrums, I have Van Halen on here!

Those phones all look terribly bland. I'd have to see them in person.

I don't think Senn is necessary trying to be like Bose. They're just trying to throw in more styles, but they're definitely over-doing it by introducing 17 styles at 1 time. I don't even think bestbuy or circuitcity carry more than 10 styles of earbuds in their stores.

That woman is pretty fine, no? Now that's quality audio advertising.

I agree; I'd say that they're really gunning for some of Sony's share of the headphone market.

How is their website hard to navigate? Are we talking about the same Sennheiser?

MORONS!!!
Bose makes two headphones, markets them heavily, and prices them over 2x what they're actually worth. Just because the company, Bose, holds a negative connotation on these boards doesn't mean that every questionable move by a headphone manufacturer holds a legitimate parallel to what Bose does. If I were to think of another company that also makes a large number of cheap headphones of questionable quality (although it's not my intention to label these new Sennheisers as such until they've actually been heard,) I would think of Sony.

EDIT: (*rereads thread*) So yeah, pretty much what NoMoreNIU said.

do not want

Personally, I don't intend to get any of these headphones. That is unless the next KSC35 is somewhere within those 17. I think, though, that if Sennheiser breaches the cheap vanity headphone market in a meaningful way, it could potentially introduce good sound to folks that would have never heard it anyways. Or at least in effect increase the median quality of cheap sound :P.

hey, while i'm on that subject (but not to hijack the thread), what is up with places that carry only cheap headphones also only carrying the bad ones? The Hastings where I am carries many Koss models of varying prices, but none of the good ones like the KSC75 or the UR40. And the Sam Goody here quit carrying the Koss KSC75 shortly after I bought mine. I know there is no causation between me mentioning it was the only decent can on their shelves when I bought mine and it never showing up in their store again, but it's fun to imagine a conspiracy.

And what important information they give!

*colors
*plastic

Not....

*20-20,000hz
*32 ohm
*dynamic driver

Sennheiser will become BOSE,,APPLE,,KLIPSCH,,ONKYO,BANG & OLUFSEN,,......etc.,if they keep going.
The flash site is a pain in the ass to navigate. You cant just hit your back button to see the other line. You have to drop the page and hit SennUSA or whichever choice and watch another flash movie to see the next line.
Im sorry, but the flash EXCITEMENT didnt thrill me into making a stupid consumer decision like most people that buy from the large consumer stores.
We can sell crap as long as the packaging is nice, and we play loud music in the store and have neon signs all over.
You know its getting pretty bad when RadioShack has better headphones than BestBuy.
Ok,,i better stop. I looked at too many blogs and forums today praising rip-off companies....lol

These kind of numbers are fake anyway:

Not....
*20-20,000hz
*32 ohm
*dynamic driver

You see that on nearly every pair of earbuds, and they are fake.

Best Buy never has anything worth buying, especially for an audiophile. Radioshack always had a few things we needed over the years. (SPL Meter, Solder, Soldering iron, connectors, Optimus PDCP, Optimus Pro LX5: http://stereophile.com/standloudspeakers/695ratshack/ and others)

Also, if you want to make money in this age of the PDP, you really have to just make stuff like this new Sennheiser line-up because this is what most people care about:

*colors
*plastic
*stylish

Nobody here is going to judge the Sennheiser brand by these phones anyway, we just look at HD580/595/600/650 etc.

Well that was disappointing and annoying....

No kidding. Etymotic, Shure, Grado, beyer, AT, AKG, UE, and co. need to get their sh1t together and start advertising properly. That's a surefire way to top the triports and whatnot (interesting that sex could be used to induce people to attain better audio). (On second thought, no; it's only interesting in the sense that it hasn't been carried out on a mass scale yet).
