Right now the only thing that disappoints me with the Qualia is its bass. I was expecting a bit more, and it's also not that tight either. Hopefully this will change with burn-in.

Does the bass change when you push the cups in on your ears?

There is a minor bass quantity increase when the pads are pressed together, but the quality doesn't really change.

I just noticed a few things that I've never heard before. On Coldplay's "Politik," during the bridge (I believe) there are cymbals that are clearly above my head. Those of you who are familiar with this song know that it's poorly recorded and is nearly just noise with bass on most headphones/ speakers. I've never encountered headstaging with this much height.

I know a lot of headfiers like to comment on the fit and the amps and all that but my main problem or more like MY problem was the period acclimatising to them when going from other headphones TO and then onto others.

It drove me nuts like you would not believe. When i got used to them after about a day or two I was happier than a pig in mud. I didn't really hear the echoey typical complaints as I don't have an audiophile ear. So when using them I did not notice.

But when changing to or from then I did notice.

I got to be honest even though I know they are not well liked. I did enjoy them immensely.

I didn't use anything amp fancy like a SDS balanced or a dynamight I used a Melos and an EMP a.e

Interesting, I just pulled up that track myself. Now I'm wondering if I would have realized that the cymbals were above my head without seeing that you said they were first... hmmm...

Yeah, this song is a lot of white noise.
