My new baby!! Moth 2A3 - Page 7

We need a pic of your amp! Craig told me the same thing about the ZD. He didn't want to have the same thing that happened with the HD300 run where people paid up front and then had to wait through delays that were beyond Craig's control. I think that is the way to do business. There is a manufacturer that will remain nameless, that takes money up front and then the wait could be many months before you see an amp. I am not saying it shouldn't be done that way. I also understand that not everyone has the money to lay out for the parts, etc. I just prefer to deal with manufacturers that don't require the up front money.

I am tentatively on the list for a ZD.

Oh yeah! Just to mention this: I do use the 300B 2.5 volt Full Music tubes in my Moth/EC2A3. They have been there for almost six months. They run fine as they were designed specifically for this application in mind. They cause no problem whatsoever to the tube or the amp. And they sound just like a 300B tube should sound. I like the sound they give so much that I just leave them in there.

And Yes, the Zana Duex does sound not just a little better than the Moth/EC 2A3, but way better. The new Zana Duex's comming out should also sound this good unless cost cutting measures gets in the way of what it takes for the sound quality to be like mine.

Now you have another reason to start unloading more of those less necessary Moth/EC amps in your collection.

Let's hope that doesn't happen.

Mikey, I think you have a potential buyer (AKA the original owner) for your EC2A3. What comes around comes around...

Yeah! Iv'e known for a long while now that Mike wants it. He just can't afford it.

Oh, he can afford the $1000+ for the amp, just not the $3000 for the custom built wood crate that goes with it. And "no", I will not sell the items seperately.

I can't. When I don't have to work, like on Saturday and Sunday, I start the day, around 9am, by listening to the EC Dual Mono for an hour, with a cup of tea, while I pet the dog. Then I take a break from chores around 3pm and listen to the EC2A3 for an hour. Then it's back to work. Then around 11pm, after an exhaustive "NOOKIEBREAK", I listen to the Zana Duex till about 2am in the morning.
Why not just listen to the Zana Duex each time? That is a simple question to answer. I would never leave my recliner and get ANY work done all day.

Also there is the fact that the Zana's sound is so powerful and intoxicating that you just have to work up to that level. If not, your brain would flip out on "Headphone Uphoria Penitration" requiring medical treatment. HUP, as it is known by the medical community, is only experienced by owners of the Zana Duex amplifiers. And as you can bet, if you get a bad case of HUP, in the morning, then you can't "HUMP" in the evening. Thats because HUP sucks all the uphoria out of you for it's own use.

It's clear you don't need the EC2A3. It is just taking time away from the ZD. If you sell it to me, it will save a friendship. If you don't, I will have to keep jp11801's Moth S2A3 and lose a good friend as a result. How could you live with yourself.

Kent, you are the man! This is especially true when he got the amp from me at a weak moment.

Could You tell me with what impedance for 2A3 tubes yours headphone amplifiers works? I ask, because my ASL Twin-Head has by factory 2,5 kilo Ohms and it is OK for its original 2A3's by Sino, but inproper for Electro Harmonix and Full Music. EH works correctly for example only with 1 kilo Ohm impedance.
