Have you tried driving your headphones directly from your monoblocks?

No, I'm not that adventurous. Or maybe I'd like it too much.....that would be a pricey way to drive my K501s!!

As long as you attenuate the signal enough so as not to blow your headphones or your ears, it should work.

K501s driven by 2A3s would be orgasmic.

Those 2A3 monoblocks are gorgeous... you ought to consider building some more of them for resale.

Those monos are awesome! Good job!

And the moth isn't too bad either.

There are a number of problems with that, mainly the cost, as parts cost is quite high and build is slow (all p-to-p soldering).

That's quite reasonable. What kind of power output do those babies pump out?

Somewhere around 3 to 3.5 watts.

This afternoon I will get a chance to hear this Moth that I've had an eye on from the moment I first saw it on ebay a while back. I'm bringing over my HD-650/G52 so John can hear what a real headphone sounds like out of that beautiful amp. That, of course, assumes we can get our VPI Scouts set up before too many beer bottles are emptied. I just received a box with 9 bottles of Bear Republic Racer 5 and 9 bottles of Bear Republic Hop Rod Rye. In order to avoid a potential disaster setting up the tt's, I am only bringing a few bottles (22oz.).
