"Brimar 13D5 This is a little known variant of the 12AU7 / ECC82 / CV4004 / 5814. The 13D5 is one of the best ever made of it's type. This tube can hold it's own with Mullard 10m, CV4004, and Genalex Gold Lions and and other so-called premium tubes. For Pro Audio and guitar amplifiers these are the perfect 12au7 / ECC82 providing clean signal and gain without harshness in class A and AB and other circuits. I have found that 13d5 is displacing all of the expensive 12AU7 I have collected over the years in my own gear, This is a special hi spec version of the 12au7 by ( for) Brimar. The 13D series was intended for for military and industrial use where parts can be interchangeable and meet very close tolerances right out of the box. This is a BVA stamped, long plate, halo getter, copper grid post, smoke top tube. The tubes date to the mid 60s by and were probably by Mullard in Blackburn Lancashire for Brimar under a government contract. Sonically, these tubes are absolutely beautiful and it is my real pleasure to bring them to you.
