What is this 'button' on the Grado headphones that Grado owners keep mentioning ? Anyone have any close-up pics?

It's a small (1/2 inch) round disc in the center of the external grille which has the model # on it. I'm sure someone will post pictures shortly.

Thanks Joe, i see what it is now.
Personally I don't think it looks so bad, but I suppose it probably does look better without it.

The Grado Music Series does not have the button as you can see :

Here are the Grado 325's :

Yeah, I like it when they say (on the Grado web site) that
one of the improvements of the 225 over the 125 is the better air flow - how about taking this stupid button off, guys??

Actually, the button tunes the phones somewhat. I think it reflects some sound coming from the centre of the back of the magnet cover. I removed the buttons from my SR325 and the sound became a bit muddy. Honest...

muddy, huh?

Could tame the 325s for me.
I find them a bit 'tinny'

(awaiting flame-o-death )

If it didn't sound a bit tinny it wouldn't be a Grado tongue.gif

the 325is aren't tinny...at least not from my WA6-SE. i have plenty of bright headphones, and i never find them to be bright. with the exception of the pro 900
